We had an amazing meal here. Inspired innovative vegetarian/vegan food. Amazing service, great cocktails and friendly prices. Our dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. Can’t wait to go back. 5 stars!
I was super excited to try Holy Carrot after being reccomended by my friends at Plant Faced Coffee Shop in Essex & so I chose to celebrate my birthday with my partner here. I obviously knew the food was going to be delicious & exciting but my goodness it was out of this world!!! Me and my partner said we defo think it's the best food we have ever eaten! We both went for the chefs experience menu so we had a variety of bits to share and I'm so glad we did! Everything we had was beautiful, full of flavour and made with care. My favourite was the beach xo mushroom rice and my partners was the artichoke schnitzel. Thank u so much to the chef & kitchen team for the best meal, can't wait to try the other menu pieces! The front of house staff were super welcoming, accommodating & took the time to explain the menu / how it all worked and made us feel very comfortable. We really loved the atmosphere and we cannot wait to come again! We were served by the lovely Isla & Phoebe too 🤩 thank you all!!!
BEST VEGAN RESTAURANT IN LONDON!!!GO HERE HUNGRY AND READY TO BE BLOWN AWAY! I think this might be the first time I’ve been to a restaurant where everything I ordered was absolutely delicious. The Koji flatbread and the wild garlic creamy dip are truly mind blowing, such unique, rich flavors that stay with you. And as a Mexican, I can confidently say I had ONE OF THE BEST MARGARITAS of my life here… the poblano chili twist is just incredible. What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the service. Gabriel made my friend and I feel like absolute queens from the moment we arrived. He took the time to explain each dish, his recommendations were spot on, and he brought such a warm, fun energy to the table, we were laughing the whole time. Overall, the service is impeccable and the food is exceptional. This place is definitely on my top list of restaurants. Thank you so much!!
Overall: Food: Plant Based Minimalistic interior with clean lines. Friendly welcome and helpful about moving tables as didn’t want to be by the door. Food served swiftly and the two highlights were the grilled flat bread and the smoked carrots. The acoustics don’t lend themselves to having much of a conversation. There was something missing to make this five stars and I can’t put my finger on it. What I liked: • Friendly, attentive service • Plant based • Lovely presentation What I didn’t like: • Very noisy so hard to talk • If you’re on a chair - they’re hard and uncomfortable. The bench seating is padded though. • High price point for vegetables • The fries were tasteless and dry Do I recommend going? YES Will I go again? YES Was it good value? NO Price Point: $$
Holy Carrot is a fantastic restaurant, perfect for a special occasion. The menu is fully vegan with a small number of options for each course - always a great sign when the chefs focus on doing a few dishes really well. There is also a set menu which has sharing dishes so is for a minimum of 2 people. The set menu has a great selection of flavours and textures. The starters were a deliciously fluffy bread, white bean puree and variety of pickled vegetables. This was devoured before I remembered to take photos. There are 4 other dishes which are served in pairs... A betroot carpaccio and roasted leeks served first. Then mushroom & tofu rice (with a crust like paella) and crispy mushrooms in a delicious sauce. Last was a rich chocolate mouse and soft serve vanilla ice cream with a chocolate biscuit crumb. Every dish was the perfect portion size to really enjoy the flavours without being overwhelming or getting too full. It was a really well designed menu. The restaurant is fairly small - table reservations are definitely needed. Staff were really attentive and explained every dish as they arrived. Everyone was polite and friendly although the only person whose name I caught was Isla who provided great service throughout the evening. For such a delicious (and indulgent meal) with cocktails and wine, and great service, the bill was very reasonable.
