There are a lot of hotels calling themselves boutiques nowadays so one needs to advance with caution. But in the case of Torel Palace this is not a mistake, if anything it should be called a bijoux hotel as it is a real gem. During our stay in Lisbon we crossed a number of charming and lovely hotels but none with as much charm as this one. The situation and the buildings were gorgeous. The service extremely friendly. We had an apartment, a huuuge 2 bedroom apartment that was very modern and maybe we got lucky with the pricing but it cost only as much as any other 5 Star room would cost. The hotel also has 2 gorgeous and very different pools. Not to mention an amazing tower that provides spectacular views over Lisbon which is an overkill as the whole hotel, pools, terraces, and rooms already overlooks the town. The bfast was a fantastic spread plus eggs however you want them. On the terrace this was just wonderful. And the bar made great cocktails. So not much to complain about. Up to know this may read like a planted review so I will also mention a few small issues to balance out the review: The hotel is not very handicap friendly but that can be said for all of Lisbon (and this was not a problem for us but it is worth mentioning as it may be an issue for some). There is a certain benign neglect around the garden areas but they remain beautiful. Water pressure in the shower was very light. And I hate 5 star hotels that have those non standard hangers - just a pet peeve. Would I go back. In a heartbeat. This has got to be in my top 5 hotels ever. Oh and I nearly forgot. On arrival there was a bottle of sparkling wine, and sweet desserts waiting for us. Heaven. P.s. Google Maps says 4 stars but this is a 5 star hotel.
What a breathtaking hotel - we loved our stay here so much. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite, and the bed was very comfortable! The entire hotel is gorgeous - the views from the multiple terraces are stunning. After walking around Lisbon and seeing all the other hotels, this feels like a gorgeous retreat up on a hill. It was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle, but still a 5 minute walk to main avenues. As two female travelers, we also felt really safe here. 10/10 experience - we will be back!
WOWWW. We flew here from USA for our wedding anniversary after extensive research. The property is exceptional, the view of Lisbon magnificent and the hotel has way better than the views than viewpoints around the city. The breakfast is delicious and the rooms are beautiful. High ceilings, gorgeous moldings and just unbelievable views of Lisboa. We are very picky and particular with our sleep and thought the beds were extremelyy comfortable. We travel a lot and this is by far one of our favorite properties we have ever stayed in. But the people who work here are what make this place unforgettable. just best service all around. all the staff is attentive, warm and professional. Every time we have interacted with anyone who works here we have felt special. 100% recommend. This place made us fall in love Lisbon and will be the only place we recommend to our family and friends when they visit. We can't wait to come back in the future. Thank you Torel team!!
Super place to stay. We booked at very short notice after a mix-up elsewhere and they still managed to get us a room the same day, which set the tone straight away. The hotel itself is beautiful, with genuinely attentive staff — nothing feels like too much trouble. The terrace is a highlight, with great views and access to two pools, and the layout makes it easy to find a quiet corner to properly switch off. Chocolates to the room was a nice touch! One bit of constructive feedback: breakfast feels like a missed opportunity. It’s perfectly adequate, and the buffet is varied and enjoyable, but it doesn’t quite match the standard set elsewhere — especially with a Michelin-starred restaurant on site. A simpler, more focused offering done really well (particularly the coffee and a couple of core dishes) would likely leave a stronger impression and might encourage more guests to try the other restaurants. For context, the eggs Royale I ordered didn’t quite land, so I ended up sticking with the buffet. Not a major issue at all, just something that feels like a potential easy win! Overall, a great place — we’ll stay again when we return to Lisbon.
Olá!! I had the pleasure of staying here with my father. He told me many times about his wonderful stays at The Torel. His favourite! It truly was an incredible experience! The team/s are attentive and so friendly. The rooms and grounds are impeccable. We had such a lovely time, and like he said, it feels like home away from home - if you're home was amazing and always perfect!! Thank you to everyone there & hope to see you all again soon.
