We visited this place with our family during our trip to Lisbon and it was really impressive. The Padrão dos Descobrimentos monument is located right by the water and looks very majestic. When we went, it was a bit windy, but the view and atmosphere were still amazing. The monument itself is beautiful and full of historical details, and the area around it is very open and nice for walking. It’s also a great spot for photos. We really enjoyed visiting here as a family. Definitely a place you should see when you come to Lisbon

must-visit landmark in Lisbon and one of Portugal’s most iconic monuments. The Monument to the Discoveries is an impressive tribute to Portugal’s Age of Exploration, standing proudly on the banks of the Tagus River. The scale of the monument, the detailed sculptures, and the stunning waterfront location make it an unforgettable experience. We visited as part of a guided city walk through Lisbon with Luxury Gold Tours, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide shared fascinating stories about Portugal’s great explorers, navigators, and maritime history, bringing the monument and surrounding area to life. The Luxury Gold experience was exceptional, with knowledgeable guides, seamless organisation, and a wonderful balance of history, culture, and local insight. The views over the river and across Lisbon are spectacular, and the nearby attractions in Belém make it easy to spend several hours exploring the area. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or simply experiencing the best of Lisbon, this monument should be on your itinerary. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Portugal. An amazing experience made even more memorable with Luxury Gold Tours. 🇵🇹✨🏛️

Hello happy people. Today we are in the city of Lisbon - Portugal. The city of Lisbon has a very rich and interesting history. There are many sights worth visiting. One of these places is one of the symbols of the city, namely the "Monument to the Discoveries (in Portuguese: Padrão dos Descobrimentos). One of the most famous monuments in Lisbon, dedicated to the era of the Great Geographical Discoveries of Portugal. It is located in the Belem district, on the banks of the Tagus River. It was originally built in 1940, and the permanent version was completed in 1960. Its shape resembles the bow of a ship. It is dedicated to Portuguese navigators and explorers, including: Henry the Navigator, Vasco da Gamma and Ferdinand Magellan. The monument is about 52 meters high and includes over 30 figures of navigators, cartographers, missionaries and other personalities associated with the Portuguese discoveries. Be sure to visit this place. Greetings and smiles.

Monument to the Discoveries (Padrão dos Descobrimentos) is one of Lisbon’s powerful and symbolic landmarks. Located along the Tagus River in Belém, this impressive monument celebrates Portugal’s Age of Discoveries and honors the explorers, navigators, and visionaries who played a major role in world history. The design is shaped like a ship’s prow with detailed statues of famous figures such as Henry the Navigator, Vasco da Gama, and Ferdinand Magellan. The riverside location adds to its beauty, making it a great place for walking, photography, and enjoying the view. You can also go inside and take the elevator to the top for panoramic views of Belém, the river, and the surrounding. Overall, it is an inspiring place that combines history, architecture, and scenic views.
