Excellent dining experience at Kanazawa in Lisbon when getting off the cruise ship. If you are looking for an authentic Japanese omakase dining experience in Lisbon, this is a good place to visit! Every dish was served with detailed explanations and I just wish that they can provide with more variety of sake from Japan to pair with the fine food.
Our fav Japanese restaurant in the country. Chef Paulo does an excellent job connecting local fisheries & farmers to deliver an authentic Japanese cuisine with local touches. We’ve always learn something new about a unique type of leaf or fruit or vegetable. And the fish / seafood is always impeccable. We’ve been there several times and it is always a pleasant surprise and the menu changes every month, truly leveraging seasonal ingredients. We particularly loved the winter menu with the warm dishes finished on the counter like sukiyaki (we missed the shabu shabu in December though!), and we just went back yesterday (early spring) and really enjoyed this month’s combinations. Their sashimi & nigiri are consistently the best. Worth the visit!
As always, a 10/10 experience The food is just exceptional, each menu - which changes monthly - prepared with great care. The staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable! It really adds to the experience.
20 out of 10 highly recommend!!! Chef Paulo is a sushi master and the skill in which he presents his craft is impeccable. An absolute explosion of flavors that were accompanied by the perfect pairings of sake and fortified wines. I will definitely be back sir. Obrigado!!!
This is one of the best sushi restaurants I have been to, including in Japan. It blends unpretentious Portuguese hospitality, the best fresh fish in the world and Japanese knowhow. The casual omakase lunch I was served last Saturday is still impressed in my memory, a brilliantly executed harmony of tuna cuts, red shrimp, scallops, white fish… all served over small rice bits… cured to perfection. Pickles and dessert were also delicate, as were the wines served by the owner (proudly and rightly from the wonderful Portuguese wine regions). Well done, we will be back!
