This was my second time at Maido, coming back after many years, and it was absolutely worth it. I returned mainly for the asado de tira, and it was spectacular, incredibly tender, full of flavor, and simply unforgettable. Highly, highly recommended, this is a must-order. The limón rugoso dessert, the one in the photo, was also outstanding, bright, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. Do not miss it. We also tried the ceviche temaki, which was interesting and nicely executed, the otoshi was very good, and the cod tempura was delicious as well. Overall, an excellent experience, but the true highlights were definitely the asado de tira and the limón rugoso dessert.

One of, if not the, best restaurant experience I’ve ever had. It’s one of those complete culinary experiences, curated and thoughtfully planned from you first enter the main door until you leave. Everything flows perfectly, the staff are equally friendly and on top of their game - regardless of role. We had a 12-course tasting menu with the 9-glass standard wine paring (premium wines and saké options available). I’m not going to paraphrase back the dishes, but will say that it’s the perfect example of prime Nikkei (Japanese techniques with Peruvian ingredients) cuisine as you enjoy dishes from all the various elements - one more interesting than the other. The Blue Fin Tuna sushi was an extra treat, but it’s really impossible to determine a winner here. The service was impeccable throughout the restaurant, from our main waiter to a generous amount of times spent with the head chef (Micha) himself. Guide Michelin is missing an obvious * * * restaurant by its lack of Peru coverage. A must visit, for any culinary enthusiast whilst in Lima. - Value for money? Yes - Worth a detour? Yes - Best for (occasion)? A peak culinary experience - Would I go back? Yes

When I found out I was travelling to Peru, booking a table at Maido was my very first priority. Getting that confirmation felt like a small victory in itself — and I’m happy to say the evening that followed was worth every bit of anticipation. Maido is currently ranked among the best restaurants in the world, and having now dined there, I understand completely why. Every single dish was a masterclass in balance — flavours that were bold yet precise, surprising yet harmonious. The kitchen takes the best of Peruvian and Japanese culinary traditions and weaves them together in a way that feels both effortless and extraordinary. But Maido is more than just the food. The story behind the restaurant, chef Mitsuharu Tsumura’s vision, and the stunning interior all contribute to an experience that is genuinely immersive. You’re not just having dinner — you’re part of something carefully and lovingly crafted from start to finish. I have dined at many restaurants over the years, but nothing has come close to this. If you ever find yourself in Lima, do whatever it takes to secure a table. It will be one of the best decisions you make. A once-in-a-lifetime experience — and yet I’d go back tomorrow

I don't known where to start. Everything was absolutely perfect. The drinks, the starters, appetizers, the sushi, the mains. One person in or party also did the 12 course tasting menu and it was perfectly crafted with layers of flavors in each bite. Each dish was a wonderful tribute to Peruvian culture and cuisine while using modern techniques. And the service was absolutely out of this world. I'd make thr trip back to Peru just to visit Maido.

The meal was absolutely phenomenal. My family and I chose to dine in for the full experience, and it did not disappoint. Each dish was clearly handcrafted with care and attention to detail. The service was top-tier—friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and you can truly tell pride is taken in both the food and the experience. We will definitely be coming back!
