I feel like my Peruvian food journey has not been on the right track yet.. I came here after (again) reading a long post which was recommended by Mark Wiens. So.. I had huge expectations. I ordered the chicarron sandwich and a glass of chicha morada. The chicha hit the spot! So good. The sandwich was.. not really hitting (my taste bud) spot. Again.. maybe it’s my pre assumption or that I’m not used to sandwiches.. the chicarron sandwich just plain bread, fried pork (chicarron), and fried sweet potato. Maybe it was wrong of me for expecting some type of sauce to glue the whole thing together.. cause I feel like there’s something missing. Don’t get me wrong, the chicarron was good (has a slight gamey smell to it) but good nonetheless. But idk.. It came with pickled onion with strong cilantro taste to it. The pickled onion really saved the dish for me. Oh, and I also asked for salsa picante which kinda helped. Overall, an okay dish but (according to my taste) kinda missing something. Service was good and efficient!
Had jamon and abuelas turkey sammy at this busy lunch spot near the plaza. Pickled onions were delicious and they had a yummy sandwich sauce. Black coffee was one of the best cups I've ever had in a cafe setting.
Great food and coffee. This location has years and the flavor is great. Don't miss the new pork ribs. Highly recommended if you want taste Peruvian food. 😍😍😍🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪
Perfect bite of bread and crunchy fried pork for breakfast. One thing that I like about it was the onion side dish, it adds acidity that rendered the fat from the pork and adds crunchiness and extra flavor from the onions. Food: Excellent Ambiance: Good Service: Good $
Chicharron was good, but the bread was stale, and the pickled onions were old. Service wasn't great, and they pretty much spilled coffee on our table.
