Many thanks to Adrian and team for taking care of us. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. They made our stay memorable! The triple room that we stayed in was great and most of all… pretty spacious for the Japanese standard. The mini-breakfast was a good way to fuel our days, albeit having smaller variety. Coffee was great! The hostel was beautifully designed and maintained. This place doesn’t feel like 2-stars, it was honestly better than a 4-star hotel in Tokyo. They have activities and events too. They had a jazz music night and it was ✨ They have luggage forwarding service too, which saved me a lot with carrying our heavy bags. There are many restaurants, cafes and shops nearby. It was very walkable, and the walk itself can be enjoyable.

My favourite hostel I stayed in Japan! Very clean and modern facilities, lots of common space available and big kitchen, comfortable bed and nice atmosphere. Location is very convenient to reach different areas of Kyoto easily, nearby the metro and train stations, as well as various bus routes and they also have bicycles for hire. The staff were amazing, especially with their recommendations. The live Jazz music in the evenings and various other activities on offer was also really nice to go back to and relax after a busy day, and meet fellow travellers.

I was honestly blown away by how elegant and cozy this hostel is. I used it as my base while exploring Kyoto, and it turned out to be a great choice. It is about a 5 to 8 minute walk from the nearest train station, and the location is very convenient, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and close to Nishiki Market. I can imagine it would also be nice to bike around the area. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The one who assisted me was very patient in explaining the amenities and giving recommendations on what to see and do in Kyoto. You can really feel that they have a good working environment. Luggage storage is available, and overall it is great value for money. I stayed in a double room with a private bathroom, and it was surprisingly spacious, bigger than what you would usually expect from hotels in Japan. I was able to comfortably open two medium suitcases, with additional storage under the bed. Shared amenities such as the lounge, kitchen in both buildings, and washing machines are easily accessible. There are extra pillows and slippers available on each floor near the elevators, which is a thoughtful touch. Towels are unlimited as well. On weekends, they even have live music. I was surprised to see a live band when I just went down to microwave some food I bought. There is definitely room for social interaction with fellow travelers. Because of time constraints, I was not able to try all the places they recommended, but their curated map alone makes me want to come back and experience Kyoto again.

Overall this was the nicest hostel I stayed at in Japan. The lounge area has a really nice ambiance. My room was more spacious than I expected. The breakfast buffet was solid. It’s walking distance to the karasuma and hankyu lines which made it convenient to explore the area. I’d definitely come back again!

This is an excellent place to stay for the price. I’ve stayed here twice now (last time was October 2023), both times in a double room with a private bathroom, and each stay has felt like incredible value for money. In my view, it’s one of the best areas to stay in Kyoto. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the hotel itself is well maintained. One slightly unusual feature is that the windows in the bedroom are frosted glass, so you can’t really see outside, but that didn’t detract from my stay. There’s also access to coin laundry and dryers in the basement, which is very convenient. The common areas are spacious, and there’s a bar in the basement by reception. The location is fantastic, with so many great bars, restaurants, cafés, bakeries, coffee shops, and beautiful shrines all within walking distance.
