The restaurant itself is historic and beautiful. We had a wonderful time at the restaurant. Our server is warm and friendly, introducing the indigents to us and cooking for us. The beef they offered is tender and delicious. Hope to come back again!!
Fifth generation on this few hundred year old property. My all-time favourite restaurant for Sukiyaki, a must meal whenever I’m in Kyoto! Premium meat comes with a premium price as well! Is worth the visit. They don’t entertain walk in or tourist. Get the hotel concierge/or a Japanese friend to call in. Full session is served by a server. A total of three stories. Private rooms are available plus if you are doing entertainment, you can also engage a Geisha to perform in the privacy on the third floor.
Last night we took a tasteful and delicious wagyu beef sukiyaki. Though we made appointment schedule mistake and late for half an hour but the restaurant was so kind and polite. The young usher and lady server were both kind and patient with our rush on dining. The interior was still kept in old time and in heavy japanese style. We sat on Tatami during the whole course. Terrific dinner!
This wonderful place was recommended by the local guide from our hotel and was praised as the best Sukiyaki in Kyoto. It has a long history, and the quality and service were highly recommended by locals. We popped in early and were able to get a table. Both the service and the food were amazing. To be able to experience the most traditional way of having Sukiyaki was unforgettable. I am a big fan of Sukiyaki and now even a bigger one after this experience. The Sukiyaki set includes a lot of things and is definitely fulfilling. It is a bit much for kids, so it is better to come with grown-ups. The price is high, but it is worthy. It will be great for special occasions and celebrate important days. I can only say it was tastier than tasty, absolutely delicious and delightful. You can taste the high quality of the ingredients on the tip of your tongue, from basic condiments to the beef itself. Also, I love their beautiful tablewares. Every piece is like an artwork from a museum. I hope I can visit it again soon.
A staff member is by your side throughout the meal, helping to prepare each dish, adding a warm and welcoming touch. The meat is incredibly tender and tastes heavenly when coated and dipped in egg. The vegetables are exceptionally delicious, and every bite feels deeply satisfying. The decor exudes authentic Japanese style, immersing you in a cozy atmosphere. It’s an excellent experience, full of warmth, we highly recommend it. Advance booking is required.
