A fun surprise is the hidden restroom behind a bookshelf door, which adds to the charm and mystery of the place. The highlight of the evening was Krishna, the main bartender. He's not just an exceptional bartender but also a magician who performs amazing tricks right at the bar, keeping guests entertained throughout the night. The bar itself is fantastic, but the entire lane it's located on has an amazing nightlife vibe and is a great area to explore after dark. Believe the hype. L’Escamoteur is our favorite bar in Kyoto, and home to some of the best drinks you’ll find anywhere. Plenty of antics to go along with the drinks, too. Order something with smoke, fire, or a bang and you’ll be glad. The atmosphere is immaculate, and I wish they’d put their playlist on Spotify. All night long, the energy is fantastic. We come back to L’Escamoteur every time we visit Kyoto, and we’ll be back again. Be sure to buy your bartender a shot!

What an experience! We went two nights in a row because we could not NOT go. I don’t know where to begin. The drinks are top notch. The ambiance is unlike anything else in Kyoto. But above all, the bartenders are beyond talented and truly sweet people, Santiago, the manager, was the absolute best. No matter how busy it was, he made it his responsibility to ensure our glasses were full and we were having a great time. And we had the pleasure of connecting with the owner who was a top tier, wonderful guy that has created a one of a kind establishment. Don’t miss out!!!

I had a great evening at the bar. The host greeted us warmly and was very friendly, which immediately created a wonderful atmosphere. Even though we had to wait a bit, it was completely fine given the special ambiance of the place. We each enjoyed five different drinks so ten in total, all of them were delicious and beautifully presented. What stood out the most was the staff, they truly put their heart into what they do and made sure everyone was in a great mood. The prices were very reasonable for the quality we received. Overall, it was an excellent night with fantastic drinks, a great vibe, and heartfelt service, I highly recommend this bar!
