We visited Katsukura Kyoto Porta and had a really satisfying meal. During dinner time, we queued for about 30 minutes, but it was worth the wait. The service was good and efficient. The tonkatsu was excellent, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We ordered three different sets, and all of them were consistently good. The free flow of rice, miso soup, and shredded cabbage made the meal even more enjoyable. The Kyoto Yuzu Cider was also very refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. Overall, delicious tonkatsu with great quality and service
Great value for money! The tonkatsu is deliciously juicy, and the oebi is properly huge. Got the crab croquette as a top-up, and loved it as well. Appreciate that the staff pointed out while ordering that I was asking for Canadian pork, which I then switched for Japanese pork, which is what I actually wanted. Great service and a hearty meal - highly recommended
Great Tonkatsu at reasonable prices. Nice restaurant with view of Kyoto Tower. The miso soup is filled with lots of ingredients. This is free flow together with rice and cabbage. Fried Yuba is very nice with great vegetables rolled in it.
The most delicious tonkatsu or fried shrimp you’ll ever have! The tonkatsu was perfectly tender and juicy. The friend shrimp was very flaky and crispy. The set meal includes a cabbage salad with yuzu dressing, rice and tea, which all can be refilled. Excellent taste and great value for money.
Great food with great service, located on the top floor of Kyoto Porta. You can reach here by escalator by the entrance of Kyoto Station (please mind that there would be 9+ escalators you need to take 🤣) I would always order their shrimp katsu as its very crispy and delicious. You can also refill the lettuce salad as much as you want. The sauce for lettuce is also a good pair to balance the taste.
