This was a great hotel. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast buffet is a nice combination of Japanese and western. Free drinks (beer, wine, sake and juices) in the lobby next to the lovely gift shop. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and it's a great location. We loved it!
One of my favorite hotel. Location wise, it’s super conveniently located by the subway and bus station to travel from place to place. 7-Eleven is 2 min away which is also a plus. The design and aesthetic of the hotel speaks for itself. The service here is amazing, the staff are attentive. The most memorable experience here are the workshops offered by the hotel. We learned how to write kanji calligraphy as well as fold origami. On days where you just want to stay in after days of walking, this is the perfect way to still enjoy the culture in the comfort of your hotel. I can’t recommend Toshi enough, he was so kind and funny as he guided us through both workshops. What a beautiful experience for the books. Huge thank you to Toshi!
An amazing hotel with super kind and helpful staff!! Our room was perfect and very spacious. The room itself is beautiful and elegant and really made our trip to Kyoto so much more enjoyable! It is very conveniently located as well. I can not stress enough how grateful I am for the staff during my stay, their english is very good (and my japanese is quite bad) and they were super patient which made our trip so much less stressful!!
Honestly, this hotel deserve 5 stars. It’s almost perfectly located next to a major historical landmark. 24 hour laundry is 3 minutes away. 7 eleven is a 10 second walk and the subway is a 2 min walk. It’s not in a crowded area of Kyoto so location is perfect. The rooms are extremely clean and modern and each component of a room has been given a substantial amount of thought especially the bathrooms. The room service attendance was overlooked by us because we are young and everything is conveniently located but it’s manageable with ease.
One of the best hotels we’ve stayed in during our honeymoon in Japan. Every detail, amenity and service rendered by the staff seemed intentional in providing the best experience possible for the customer. The breakfast was also one of the best hotel breakfasts I have tried, both in terms of the wide variety offerings and the deliciousness of each offering. I would like to commend Toshi-sensei for the free calligraphy class and the effort he put into researching the Japanese versions of our English names.
