The steamed chicken with porridge was decent. A better option would probably be the beef noodle, which is their signature dish, judging from the name of the shop. The chilli sauce was excellent and really stood out. The bean sprouts was fresh, thick and crunchy and is a good add-on option. The food was served very quickly, which was a plus. The environment could be a bit cleaner, though. There’s the option to dine indoors or outside along the sidewalk. It’s located about a 5-minute walk from Masjid Jamek MRT station and accepts credit cards and Apple Pay.
Made a special trip to try the famous Soong Kee Beef Noodles while in Kuala Lumpur, and it did not disappoint! The beef noodles have a classic Hong Kong-style taste that is both comforting and delicious. The sliced beef was tender, the beef balls were flavorful, and everything was cooked just right. We also ordered the Char Siew, which was surprisingly good and definitely worth trying. A legendary spot that lives up to its reputation. Highly recommended!
A simple, clean and traditional store. They have been in the business of selling beef noodles since 1945! I am a sucker for old heritage businesses so am happy I had the opportunity to try their food out. We had both the soup and dry versions, with beef tripe, beef balls and beef slices. The dish was warming and nostalgic with a subtle beef taste which was very nice. I enjoyed it very much and think it is worth try just because they are so established. the flavour was a bonus!
This beef noodle shop has several branches around the Klang Valley, and this was my first time trying it at the original outlet. For me, the dry beef noodles are always the better choice compared to the soup version. It is more flavourful and satisfying. That said, the quality felt similar to their other branches, including the stall at Lot 10 Hutong. One thing to note is that if you are expecting a strong, natural beefy flavour, this might not be the type of beef noodles for you. The meat is heavily seasoned and quite strongly tenderised, so while the slices are very soft, the texture and taste can feel less like actual beef. We also tried the roasted pork belly, but it was just average. Overall, it was good, but I do not think there is a need to purposely travel to the original shop since the other branches taste about the same.
This legendary beef noodle shop has been serving customers here for decades. Their signature dry beef noodles remain the best after all these years. Now they have added poached chicken as part of their menu. Parking can be difficult during office hours, but it’s definitely a must-try spot when you’re in Kuala Lumpur. Prices are also very reasonable!
