The historic seat of Polish royalty, featuring a stunning Italian Renaissance courtyard and a cathedral housing the tombs of Poland's kings.

Very impressive castle. Lots to see. A little pricey, with attractions divided into about 4 or 5 things, each priced at around 45pln per person. I would have preferred to pay 60pln and been able to see them all. Directions to start point was not great. Actual attraction we saw (2nd floor state rooms) was interesting and they audio set up was good.

Wawel Royal Castle is truly fascinating, both in terms of the architecture and the sheer scope of what there is to see. The condition of the castle is exceptional, and it is clear that outstanding restoration work has been done. Everything is beautifully maintained and an absolute pleasure to explore. There are countless rooms, exhibitions, and areas to visit, far too many to properly see in just one day. Every section offers something unique, and the variety alone makes the visit extremely worthwhile. Overall, it is an absolute highlight in Kraków, a stunning place and a real feast for the eyes. Definitely a must-visit.

Impressive castle in Krakow with a nice art collection, the majority of paintings were from 14th-19th century but you could also see older artefacts. What impressed us most as it was unexpected was the ceramic collection which was extraordinary! I recommend this place to anyone who's in Krakow.

Wawel Royal Castle is one of the most important historical landmarks in Kraków, rising above the Vistula River and shaping the city’s skyline. The complex immediately stands out for its fortified walls, towers and layered architectural styles, reflecting centuries of political and cultural history. Walking around the exterior offers a rewarding experience on its own. The paths along the walls provide changing viewpoints, from imposing brick structures to quieter green areas that soften the monumental feel of the site. The layout allows visitors to explore at a relaxed pace, with a clear sense of connection between the castle, the river and the surrounding city. The area is well maintained and easy to navigate, making it suitable both for a short visit and for a longer walk combined with the nearby riverbanks. Even without entering the interiors, the castle conveys a strong sense of Kraków’s historical identity. A key landmark that combines architecture, history and urban landscape, and an essential stop when visiting the city.

WAWEL CASTLE – ROYAL SPLENDOR AND A LESSON FOR LIFE 🏰👑✨ Our visit to Wawel Castle was an absolutely wonderful experience for our group. Everything here exudes history, good taste, and a national pride that wins you over instantly. From the imposing architecture to the royal chambers filled with treasures, everything is at the highest level. A very special mention goes to our guide, an absolutely delightful Polish lady. If we had closed our eyes, we could have sworn we were listening to an authentic Englishwoman! Her perfect command of the language, her elegance in expression, and, above all, that fine and typically British humor completely won us over. She answered all our questions with great kindness, and through her charisma and storytelling, she turned Poland's history into a living tale before our eyes. We thank her from the bottom of our hearts for this flawless tour! However, beyond the splendor of the halls, one detail touched our souls directly. In one of those grand rooms, we came across a group of children having their history lesson right there. Without desks, they were sitting on the floor, directly on the castle’s old parquet, drinking in every word from their teacher. I was deeply impressed by their natural discipline and sparkling curiosity – at every question, their hands were up, showing a sincere desire to learn. 📚🧒 Seeing them there, in the heart of history, I realized that this is the most beautiful way to learn: with respect for one's roots and an open heart. This image of purity, in contrast with the heavy history we felt in other places, offered us a ray of hope and an unforgettable lesson. A superb place and a complete experience that we highly recommend to everyone!
