I stayed at this hotel for 5 days and would not recommend it to anyone. The biggest issue was the cleanliness. The room was filthy when I arrived. The towels, bed sheets, floor, and other surfaces were covered with hair. The sheets appeared to be unwashed, and the entire bed was in a shocking condition. There were crumbs and debris underneath the mattress protector, and both the mattress protector and bedding were stained with substances I could not identify. The overall level of hygiene was honestly disgusting. sheets, stains, and room conditions because I could hardly believe what I was seeing. When I asked to have the room cleaned or to be moved to another room, I was told that all the rooms were the same. Despite repeatedly requesting cleaning during my stay, it never happened properly. I eventually had to obtain clean sheets myself. The hotel is also extremely noisy. While it is located in the center of Jerusalem, there is constant traffic noise and beeping from the street. The windows provide very poor sound insulation, making it difficult to rest or sleep. The staff seemed to be doing the bare minimum. Even during the week, when the hotel did not appear particularly busy, basic requests were ignored. Another concern is safety. The room doors do not have an internal security latch or chain. The door can be opened with a key, but there is no additional lock from the inside that guests can use for their own peace of mind. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. Poor hygiene, lack of cleaning, excessive noise, and inadequate attention to guests' concerns made this one of the worst hotel stays I have had. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere when visiting Jerusalem.

My stay at the Jerusalem Gate Hotel was okay overall, but there were a few disappointing parts. Some of the staff made me feel a bit unwelcome at times, and the synagogue was not available when I needed it, which was inconvenient. The room also felt somewhat outdated and gray, and housekeeping could have paid a little more attention to detail when making the bed. With some improvements to service and room upkeep, the experience could be much better.

The biggest advantage is the location — it’s very convenient, with many key places nearby and easy to get around the city. However, the food was quite mediocre and didn’t meet my expectations for a hotel of this level. During my stay, the hotel was very crowded with a largely religious population attending weddings and events, which made the atmosphere feel busy and packed. Overall, the location is a strong plus, but there are areas that could use improvement.

This hotel is really old and needs an urgent update. I understand that maybe it cannot be done but at least do maintenance and change the basics. The mattress is really old and uncomfortable it sags in the middle. The shower head was broken the holes popped out when using and I needed to contantly press it in to get a decent flow. Bath was also full of hairs when I came.

A disastrous experience. The road noise until 3 a.m. made me want to sleep outside. The creaking doors made a monstrous noise that kept us awake all night. We indicated that we would be coming with a child under one year old and received a travel cot with multiple holes. The breakfast was appalling: dry bread and disgusting utensils. All for $200.
