Soto H. Ma’ruf offers an authentic Betawi culinary experience that truly lives up to its long-standing reputation. The Soto Betawi is excellent—rich, creamy, and well-balanced, with tender beef and a deep, mature spice profile that feels carefully crafted rather than rushed. The flavors are bold yet refined, making each spoonful very enjoyable. The beef satay is outstanding. The meat is extremely soft and juicy, and the candlenut (kemiri) flavor is very prominent, giving the sauce a rich, nutty depth. The seasoning is spot-on—savory, aromatic, and perfectly complementing the meat without overpowering it. In terms of pricing, it is slightly above average, but fair and justified considering the quality of ingredients, consistency of taste, generous portions, and the restaurant’s heritage since the 1940s. This is not a place for cheap daily meals, but it is well worth the price for quality, authenticity, and experience. Overall, highly recommended for anyone looking for classic Soto Betawi and high-quality satay with consistent flavors and a strong sense of tradition.

Good spot for lunch, this place offers an authentic Soto Betawi around Gondangdia and Cikini but it has other branches too. At first, I thought it was bland but I forgot to mix up the soup. Taste was okay, not too tasty or salty for me. It has a lot of beef inside and it's tender. The place has a lot of seating, ideal for groups and is comfortable with AC inside.

The place is quite simple but comfy. They serve nicely and i like this atmosphere because it's really homey. This place near gondangdia station, you can just order bajaj to get here. Very recomended🤩

This humble soto eatery is definitely amongst the culinary legends in Jakarta. Their business has been started since 1940s, started off with a carry around stall. What to order/try? Their signature soto betawi (savory and milky soto, a mix of milk & coconut milk) is consistently good and hearty. The satays (choice of chicken, beef and lamb) are a must try too. They also have laksa betawi, which is a rare find nowadays. Their dine in place is a tad bit small, but they’re equipped with ACs.

This legendary soto Betawi restaurant already existed in 1940... They had 4 branches in jkt, such as TIM,Cikini,Tebet,Pramuka... They also sold satay too from chicken, beef & goat... Kinda pricey but tasty... The beef satay is soft and tender, served 8 pcs per portion... The lungs soto that I ordered is well tasted, the soup mixed of coconut milk and milk... The melinjo crackers and fried onion also the chives mixed greatly with the soup and meat/condiments... The rice is standard... The ice tea is standard... The crackers are enjoyable... Service is quick and polite... Atmosphere is like in traditional Betawi restaurant...
