This place is a legendary landmark filled with my childhood memories. It has truly stood the test of time. The Changes & Ambience: I remember when this original branch used to be packed with long queues outside. It's now relatively quiet inside, perhaps because of the ongoing railway construction in the area making access difficult, or because Bakmi GM now has many other convenient branches. Despite the changes, the ambience still feels nostalgic and retains that classic atmosphere from my childhood. Parking Tip: Parking has indeed become challenging due to the nearby train construction. However, because it’s not as crowded as before, you can still manage to find roadside parking near the entrance sidewalk. The Food (Still a Classic): The taste is consistently good, exactly as I remember it: The Noodles: Famous for their thin, small, and perfectly chewy texture (kenyal). Fried Wontons (Pangsit Goreng): An absolute must-order! Legendary for being incredibly crispy and having that signature 'crumbly' texture. Orange Juice: It's a running joke in my family that ordering this costs nearly as much as another bowl of noodles—but it's worth it! Pure, fresh, and genuinely high-quality orange juice. While accessing this specific branch can be a challenge now, it remains one of the best comfort foods in the city for a purely nostalgic meal.

I'm a bit sad when I come here. It used to be packed with custormers. The ambience remain the same with the iconic stairs still standing out. Last I came, I remember having used the QR code to order, which I found pretty hassle. Fortunately, now we can order through the waiter, which is more convenient. The menu has more variations. Noodle's texture and taste remains the same, as well as the sambal and pickles. However, the soup changes a bit, less flavourful. I have Chicken Katsu Sambal Matah and noodle. Nice service, friendly waiter. I was waiting for a friend of mine, and placed my order around 20 minutes later. They don't bother to check on me at all.

The food was as good as bakmi GM can be. The ambience was decent, knowing that its their original branch. The service, on the other hand, cannot be worse. Do note that this was on non-rush timings, or around 2 to 3 PM. Staff asked us twice (once with an accusatory note) whether we have ordered and paid or not, even though the second one is already delivering food to my table. Furthermore, we were bugged twice more on whrther our order has been delivered to our table. I was wondering whether the staff communicated to each other or not. I observe there is another client who feel even a worse frustration and need to go to the kitchen directly. The service or the system, or whatever the weakest link is, need significant check to not impact customer experience. Thanks.
