Last week we were unexpectedly longer in Jakarta. So we decided to try and get a table at August for our anniversary. We were lucky enough to get a spot. And let me start by saying August fulfilled all our expections. Let me start with the service. It is everything you expect from a fine dining experience. All the staff was super open, helpful and enthusiastic. Which creates this lovely warm atmosphere. Even one of the owners and the head chef came by our table for a chat. Next up is the food and drinks which were all delicious. The blend between indonesian ingredients and fine dining seems to deliver straight up flavor bombs. My only complaint is that i didnt want the dishes to end haha. Overall experience was a 10 out of 10. If you are into fine dining you definitely have to come here. August thanks for the lovely time and great food.

This restaurant offers a world-class fine dining experience that elevates Indonesian ingredients to an extraordinary level of sophistication. Each dish beautifully accentuates local flavors, showcasing a mastery of technique that is truly on par with Michelin-starred establishments, in my opinions. The ambiance is equally refined, striking a perfect balance between modern elegance and warm, traditional comfort. The service was impeccable, the waiter was exceptionally attentive. Every element of the meal was executed with absolute precision, it was an extraordinary journey. It is an essential destination for anyone looking to celebrate the incredible depth and potential of Indonesian cuisine in a truly elevated setting. We had a blast, thank you.

The tasting menu is peppered with European techniques; however, the food is distinctly Sumatran. It is obvious the chefs are connecting their childhood foods to their explorations abroad & they are doing so honestly and with great care. We were gifted chocolate chip cookies to go as a reference to my bakery in NYC. That someone took the time to both research & make cookies is all you need to know about the excellence the team strives for. I truly believe this would be a 2-3 Michelin Star experience in the West. They earned their Asia Top 50 and then some.

We did the extended tasting menu with the non-alcoholic beverage pairing. The whole experience was sublime, and it was by far our favorite meal in Jakarta. It has been named as one of Asia’s top 50 restaurants for a number of years, and deservedly so. Both the food and the service were amazing. The co-founder of the restaurant even took the time to introduce himself, and recommended a couple restaurants for our upcoming trip to Bali.

A remarkable tasting menu restaurant in Sequis building. Easy to spot and very convenient. There are makn dining area, chef's table, and seats in front of the bar. Went here a couple of times - with friends and with my kid. Overall ambience feels lively despite the dim setting of the restaurant. Food is always delicious, creative with traditional touch - from start to finish. Loved the banana kerupuk with roa dipping sauce, lombok fish, wagyu striploin, and the sourdough ice cream. Paired with good selection of drinks from the bar. Prepare for approx. 2 hours to finish up the tasting menu ~ 12 different foods. Do budget for slightly longer time when taking the chef's journey. They checked for dietary restrictions i believe some of the restrictions can be accommodated. Service is excellent, with attentive staffs. Definitely in my Top 10 list of favorite Jakarta restaurants.
