I recently visited Samrat Restaurant in Bapu Bazar / Chaura Rasta, Pink City, Jaipur and had a really enjoyable food experience overall. It’s a must-visit stop if you’re exploring the local alleys, shops, and historic spots like Hawa Mahal nearby. 📍 Location & Ambience: Located at Shop No.273, Chaura Rasta, this legendary spot sits amidst bustling markets and street life. It’s easy to find opposite the bank and close to popular Jaipur landmarks. The seating is limited and simple, so most people enjoy their food standing or on nearby steps — it’s all part of the street-food culture here. ⌚ Timings: Open roughly 7:00 AM–8:30 PM / 9:00 PM daily, making it perfect for breakfast, snacks, and evening treats. 🍽️ Best Food to Try: 🔥 Pyaz Ki Kachori – Crispy, spicy, and full of authentic flavor — easily one of Jaipur’s best local breakfast bites. ☕ Masala Chai – A perfect pairing with the snacks. 🥟 Samosa with Aloo Sabzi – Classic and comforting. 🍛 Dal Pakwan & Kadhi-Puri – Highly recommended by locals and travelers alike. 🍬 Jalebi-Fafda Combo – Sweet and crunchy treat to finish. 💰 Price & Value: Very pocket-friendly — around ₹150–₹200 for two, perfect for budget travelers and foodies alike. 🍽️ Hygiene & Service: The restaurant is very popular and busy, especially in mornings and evenings but hygiene and seating could be improved, and it feels a bit cramped due to crowds. But overall, the food is served fresh and fast. 🌟 Summary: A beloved Jaipur staple for authentic local street food, excellent breakfast snacks, and chai in the Pink City. Great value for money and a fun, cultural experience — though you should go with an appetite and a readiness for simple, bustling surroundings. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone wanting real Jaipur flavors!

Had a tasty breakfast at Samrat Restaurant in Jaipur — the samosa, tea and famous kachori were all really good and hit the spot for some classic local breakfast flavours. Lots of people recommend this place for traditional street-style bites like pyaz ki kachori and chai, and it lived up to the hype! One thing to note — the place could benefit from a bit more cleanliness and tidier setup, especially around the footpath area where they serve chutney and sides. A proper stand for the chutney rather than placing it on the ground/footpath would make the whole experience more pleasant. Overall, solid tasty food and worth a visit — just hoping to see a cleaner setup next time!

Best Kachoris in Jaipur. Tried the dal kachori, Pyaaz kachori and the Bread pakoda. Absolutely loved them. The kachoris had the perfect amount of filling which was way more than what other places had. The service was prompt. The tea is also very good.

⭐ 1/5 I honestly don’t understand why this place is known for good tea. My experience at Samrat Restaurant was quite disappointing. The tea quality was below expectations — no real taste, no consistency, just different names on the menu without any real difference in flavor. The behavior of the staff was also not welcoming. Service felt careless and uninterested, which makes the overall experience worse, especially when you are visiting a place known mainly for tea. A simple smile and basic hospitality would have made a big difference. Atmosphere is average and crowded, but that is acceptable for a local spot. However, when quality and service both fail, the visit doesn’t feel worth it. If you are offering multiple tea options, there should be a clear difference in taste and quality — not just names. I hope the management focuses on improving tea quality and staff behavior. Right now, it feels overrated and not worth the hype. — Vikash Agarwal, Level-8 Reviewer & NIFT Graduate

Samrat Restaurant is a great spot to experience classic Jaipur street-style food. The kachoris were excellent — crisp, flavorful, and freshly made. The early morning jalebis were absolutely delectable, perfectly hot, crisp on the outside, and soaked just right in syrup. If you’re looking for authentic local flavors, especially for breakfast or an early start to the day, this place is definitely worth a visit. Simple, satisfying, and true to Jaipur’s food culture.
