This is probably the most famous sweet shops in old Jaipur city. We got a recommendation of this place and more so because I wanted to eat Rabdi Ghewar, which is usually prepared only in the monsoon (savan) months. The shop is conveniently located in Bapu Bazar and can be easily found. One should prefer walking here or public transport since the roads are always jampacked here. As we entered the shop, swarming noise of people welcomed us, along with delicious smell of Indian sweets. We decided the food we wanted to order and again had to be in a queue to place the order. After payment and getting the token we went to respective counters to fetch the food and sweets. The preparation was very nice and fresh. The only drawback was we had to wait for a standing table to eat the food, since there was a lot of crowd. I had the Rabdi Ghewar, Chamcham and some other sweets which were truly nice and well prepared. They also sell eggless bakery products. They have a restaurant in the adjoining shop which keeps very busy too. The prices seem higher but I felt they were justifying the quality of ingredients and sweets. Highly recommended overall.
Visited **Laxmi Misthan Bhandar, Johri Bazaar for Sunday lunch, and the experience was extremely disappointing. For a place known for its legacy and taste, the quality has dropped significantly. The food was served cold, portion sizes were very small for the price, and to make matters worse, we found a large thread in the naan, which raises serious hygiene concerns The taste of items were extremely average. LMB special had measly 4 thin pieces of paneer, bad texture and taste. bela Rajasthani was equally unappetising. We complained multiple times, but the response was slow and indifferent. The manager took a long time to attend, and after all the inconvenience, the only action taken was a small reduction in the bill for the naan. There was no proper apology or effort to address the overall experience. The service felt careless, and the overall attitude suggested the restaurant is relying on its old reputation rather than maintaining standards. Given the pricing, this experience was not just disappointing but unacceptable. Sadly, the place feels overpriced, overrated, and no longer worth it. Avoidable place
Sweet section is excellent but the same is not with their restaurant. Staff is courteous and prompt. But the taste is missing. Compare to the price they charge gravy is very little in every servings. Taste is not upto the mark. We ordered gatte ki sabji thinking of traditional Rajasthani cousine in main old Jaipur market, but they disappointed us. Three little piece of Gatte in kadhi gravy and the price is approx Rs 500 Per gravy. LMB you have to improve otherwise very soon fame diminish.
My review if for the sweet shop and not the restaurant. The choices are overwhelming, so many to select but you definitely buy some trial sizes. They have vacuumed, tins, and souvenirs with long shelf life. But those within the refrigerated windows, it may take just 3-5 days. If you dont know which one to take home, you can ask the ladies and they will help you order.
LMB as they fondly called it is one of the iconic sweet and namkeen shop in the city. They have a proper restaurant adjacent to cater different menu apart form the regular sweets. We visited specially for the kachoris and tried dal kachori and pyaaz kachori. The dal kachori was strictly average but the pyaaz kachori lived upto the hype thats been told or circulated. They also have huge variety of snacks and beverages options as well. Overall top rated from side for definitely must try Pyaaz kachori.
