We visited the restaurant with high expectations and overall had a mixed experience. Upon arrival, the welcome felt somewhat understated, as we were not greeted immediately and had to make our way to the dining area on our own, which was a little unexpected for a restaurant of this caliber. The service was polite and well-intentioned. However, communication in English was limited, with only the manager being able to assist us comfortably. For an international-level restaurant, broader language coverage would certainly enhance the guest experience. Regarding the food, the welcome bites were pleasant and well presented. The fish was cooked perfectly, although the dish as a whole could have benefited from a bit more intensity and depth of flavor. The lamb was balanced but rather subtle in taste. On a very positive note, the pistachio ice cream was truly exceptional, as was the dessert. At the end of the meal, there was a small oversight with the bill, as the deposit paid for the reservation had not been deducted initially. This was resolved after we mentioned it. Overall, the pricing feels on the higher side compared to the experience offered. With some refinement in service flow and bolder flavors in certain dishes, the restaurant has the potential to fully meet the expectations associated with its positioning.

The food was truly fantastic. The meal had perfect timing of dishes, not too slow. The food was beautifully plated and the staff were very accommodating. The cocktails are incredible and worth every penny. The barman there is truly something special.

We had a good evening with a menu inspired by Turkish flavours, thoughtfully crafted by the chef. While most dishes – apart from the tuna, lamb, and the first dessert – didn’t quite reach star level, the Turkish wines stole the show and made the night special. The funky vibe of the place, even if the service lagged a bit for a starred spot, paired with that stunning view, created an international atmosphere. All in all, it was a good evening, full of great moments, and definitely a spot we’d like to revisit.

Neolokal is a Michelin-recommended restaurant that exclusively offers a tasting menu rather than à la carte, paired with an extensive wine list. The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the interior design and overall ambiance are incredibly well-executed. You can also enjoy the outdoor seating area, where a fireplace creates a wonderful atmosphere for spending the evening

We had a lovely anniversary dinner here and enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairing. I liked the presentation of the dishes and they were explained well, though the wine pairings could have been explained with more detail. We were only really told the origin of the wine and its year, with little explanation of any notes. The dishes that stood out most for us were the amuse bouches, sorrel sorbet, and slow roasted lamb (pictured below). We would definitely return if in Istanbul again!
