Ayasofya is undoubtedly an important historical landmark and I am glad I visited it once. However, if I’m being completely honest, I would not pay for the same experience again. A large part of the building is currently under restoration, which affects the atmosphere and limits what visitors can see. The history is fascinating, but after the visit I felt that the experience did not fully match the price of the ticket and guided tour. What I regret more is not having enough time to visit the Basilica Cistern, which many travelers recommended to us. If I had to choose between the two, I would probably visit the Basilica Cistern first. Still, Ayasofya remains an iconic symbol of Istanbul and is worth seeing at least once, especially for those interested in history and architecture.
You must visit Hagia Sophia if you visit Istanbul. Be sure to visit early in the morning. During the day you can wait up to 2 hours to get in.
It is a fantastic experience to see the Hagia Sophia. Unfortunately, tourists can only enter the lower part if they are Muslim. But this only takes away from the experience a little. It is worth going into the museum afterwards to learn more about its history. The entrance ticket is valid there as well.
One of the amazing place in Istanbul a beautiful piece of art, when you book a ticket try to take both Hagia Spoghia Grand Mosque tour with the Museum, the Museum tell you a lot about the history of the place
Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque – A Must-Visit in Istanbul! If you’re staying in Istanbul, make sure to visit the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque — it is truly one of the most magnificent historical and spiritual places you will ever see. As soon as you step inside, a deep spiritual feeling surrounds you. Standing under that massive dome, you can’t help but think about how many millions of people have walked through these doors over centuries. It feels like the entire history of empires, faiths, and civilizations is quietly present within these ancient walls. The experience was incredibly moving and memorable. The architecture is breathtaking, and the sense of awe and peace it brings is something special. Whether you come for its religious significance, its rich history, or simply its beauty, Hagia Sophia leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommended! If you’re in Istanbul, don’t miss this iconic landmark. It’s a place that stays with you long after you leave.
