Visited in end of March on a Sunday at 11AM30 Tips/Infos: • Time: Around 1 hour (depending on current exhibitions). • Price: Around 450₺ (≈8€). • Best time: Flexible; generally not too crowded. • Exhibitions: Mostly temporary, so the content changes regularly. • Pacing: Easy to visit at a relaxed pace. The Arter is a contemporary art museum that offers a very different experience compared to the more classic Istanbul Modern. One important thing to know is that most of the exhibitions are temporary, so what you see will depend entirely on when you visit. When we went, the exhibitions were more focused on: • video installations and film-based works • conceptual and immersive pieces • less traditional formats like painting or photography Compared to Istanbul Modern, it felt more experimental and less conventional, which can be interesting but also a bit less accessible depending on your expectations. We spent about 1 hour at a slow pace, which felt enough to go through all the exhibitions available at that time. Overall, it’s a nice stop if you’re into modern and experimental art, but since the content changes, the experience can vary a lot. It’s worth checking what’s currently on display before going.
Contemporary art museum with various temporary exhibitions which were well presented in a great space with awesome lighting. They had very recent pieces as well in contrast to the modern art museum. Cafe/restaurant offers large carrot of drinks and lunches. Highly recommended.
Great place for exhibition and arts! Have library, book store, big scale Theater and two or three floors of exhibitions space, I enjoyed the curation of three showings I’ve attended there!
Nice art space with great lightning. Love the little rooftop terrace although it would be nice to have some seating there. It is spread out on 4 floors. If you are nearby, would recommend it.
I will judge only art inside and it was just OK. Maxbe too contemporary for me. Elgiz museum, which is similar, but smaller, have more interesting works of art. I went when it is free.
