Heard about this as it supposedly has a Michelin star. We came fairly early before the dinner crowd so we got a table quite easily. I would say that it's one of the first few places that had more tourists but I guess probably it is well publicised. As it was the speciality, we ordered goose and also had the roast and BBQ pork combo. We also ordered some lettuce with oyster sauce (I think!) on the side, along with a portion of rice and noodles. Verdict? Not sure it was worth the hype or more importantly the price! The goose was quite difficult to eat with a lot of it stuck on the bone. I'd say the pork was better. The vegetables also felt slap dash as they just poured some sauce on top - whereas other places would at least mix it in or stir fry lightly. I mean I would have made more effort! Service itself felt ok but it wasn't very busy so the staff were quite patient with orders. Would I come back again? Unlikely!

I visited Yat Lok after hearing many mixed opinions, but I wanted to try the famous roast goose by myself. The place is small and always busy, and honestly the first impression is a little intense. But after sitting down and taking my first bite, I could understand why many people still come here again and again. The goose skin was very crispy, like cracking sound, and the meat had this deep flavor that stays on your tongue. The portion is not big, but the taste is strong and memorable. Service is fast, maybe a little too fast, but I guess this is the style of old Hong Kong shops. I think visitors who want quiet meal maybe not for you, but if you enjoy authentic “no compromise” food, it is quite a special experience. I recommend to come early because the line gets crazy. Not perfect place but very real, and that’s why I liked it. 朝11時以降がおすすめですよ!

Finally tried the Michelin star roast goose. The meat was tender, juicy, deeply savoury and very crispy on the skin. It was really good but pretty average for other food like char siew and steam chicken. Price was also steep for the portion.

Yat Lok serves some of the best roast goose I’ve ever had, incredibly juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. It’s easy to see why this place has earned Michelin recognition. That said, the main downside is the price. It’s definitely on the expensive side, which makes the “worth it” factor a bit debatable. Overall, I would come back because the quality is undeniable, but I might still lean toward more affordable options for regular visits. Still, a must-try at least once!

We ordered the bbq pork, crispy pork, and their best seller roasted goose. Everything was sooooo good, this is really worth the hype. We went on a thursday after lunch. The restaurant is still crowded but we get to have a seat quite immediately. The lady who served us is very nice and tries to speak english to give us recommendations. Overall 10/10! They accept gcash payments for filipino visitors :)
