Amazing dinner at VEA. Every dish was meticulously made and the flavours were spot on. Especially loved the sea cucumber, coconut, the pumpkin in multiple ways, and the truffle dessert. The sauce with the abalone wellington was also very rich and intense. I got the non alcoholic pairing which was amazing too! Each drink paired so nicely and all offered inventive flavours with care and ingenuity. The design of the restaurant is also lovely. I was seated at the booth which occasionally got cramped but it’s understandable and not too disruptive. The service was attentive throughout too! All in all a fantastic experience and I’d love to come again.
I went here for dinner and really enjoyed the food. Almost every dish was excellent. The ingredient quality was very high, and you can tell they use premium products. The price is expensive, but it matches the quality, so I think it’s fair. The restaurant is counter seating only, no regular tables. I did notice they have a private room. Personally, I didn’t like the overall atmosphere because it felt too crowded and dense for me. The restroom is available, but it’s very small and not as clean as I expected, especially for a restaurant at this level. That said, the food quality and flavors are absolutely worth it. If you care about high-quality ingredients and serious cooking, this place is definitely worth trying.
The restaurant felt neat and comfortable, and the food was great - delicious, thoughtful, and meaningful. The menu leaned heavily toward seafood, which was handled well across the courses. The abalone was a highlight. I should have chose to upgrade the truffle rather than the fish maw, maybe would have suited my taste better. The spirit-free pairing was what I loved most about the experience. It was well-balanced, intentional, and added real depth to the meal. Big applause to the mixologist, whose work truly elevated the evening. Service was generally nice, but the experience felt a bit chaotic and rushed at times, with some uneven execution that showed not everyone shared the same understanding of hospitality. A bartender (with glasses) touched the rim of my half-finished glass when moving it to the side, which noticeably disrupted my experience tbh. Phillips and the kitchen staffs were professional and clear in presenting the dishes, helping balance out the overall impression.
Dining at VEA for the 8-course tasting menu was nothing short of exceptional — easily one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had. Every course was thoughtfully composed, deeply refined, and full of character. What truly elevated the meal, however, was the service. Adele was outstanding — warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to explain every single course in detail, shared the inspiration behind the dishes, and genuinely engaged in conversation throughout the meal, which made the entire experience feel personal rather than transactional. A special highlight was having the chance to meet Vicky Cheng, the owner himself. Being able to briefly speak with him added another meaningful layer to the evening and made the experience even more memorable. I’ve dined at many Michelin-starred restaurants across different countries, and VEA truly stands out — not just for the food, but for the hospitality, precision, and soul behind the experience. It’s a restaurant I genuinely love and one I would return to without hesitation.
The food is good and I quite like the idea of chinese french fusion with a touch of teochew elements thanks to chef’s background. The chef (Vicky) came to say hi and had some small talk with us which is a big plus. The portion is relatively small adding the long waiting time between dishes making the whole experience very “memorable”. We wait for 20-30 minutes for a dish, finish in 3-4 bites and repeat the cycle for 6 times. I saw guests from other tables even asked the waiter to skip the last dessert and just get the cheque coz they can’t wait anymore. Really feel bad for the patissier, I am sure they have spent so much time prepping them. No small snacks or bread provided in between long waiting time and we left the restaurant at 1030pm with half empty stomach (for 7pm reservation). The service is professional. One interesting detail I noticed on that evening is despite almost full house and everyone was busy, if you stand up for restroom (very large and fancy restroom btw) and leave your table napkin on the chair, one of the staff will immediately come to fold it in a nice shape and leave it on your table. If you come for special occasions they will also serve a small dessert and some cookies for you to take home before you leave for the evening. These are all nice touches but I really wish they can spend more time and effort to ensure the smooth dinning experience instead of other fancy add ons.
