Dishes were seasoned just right but sweet and sour pork was pork rib cuts and had splintered bones and gelatinous meats making it hard to remove the meat from the bone. Eggplant is not too salty but the flavour combination is classic and nothing special. Definitely won’t come back again because of the quality to price ratio. Not worth its Michelin star. Poorer than some Bib Gourmands.
Dinner with hubby for our anniversary. I love seafood. Well done and very tastes. Customer service is super and friendly. A little pricy but worthwhile for special occasions.
The cooking skill was excellent across the board—it was a truly impressive meal. Fried Tofu: Although a simple dish, the flavor was anything but ordinary! It was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside. The tofu itself was seasoned so well that it tasted amazing without needing any dipping sauce at all. Stir-fried Razor Clams: Absolutely superbly cooked! The clams retained their crunchy texture and had a perfectly well-rounded, delicious flavor. It was an incredibly satisfying dish. Abalone: So tender! Easy to chew and the flavor was outstanding. I genuinely wanted to order another one, but I had to restrain myself because we had already ordered so much! 😂 Scallops with Glass Noodles: The sauce poured over this dish was fantastic! It was fragrant with garlic and had a rich, umami flavor (nuan) that was deeply satisfying. Lobster with Ginger and Noodles: We chose a large lobster prepared two ways: stir-fried with ginger, and the accompanying fried noodles. The fried noodles were a little on the salty side initially, but in the end, they were so good we finished the entire plate! Geoduck: A perfect finish! The geoduck we chose was incredible—sweet, crunchy, and delicious. For those who prefer not to eat it raw, the restaurant provided a slightly ginger-flavored soup and tofu for dipping, served with wasabi. It was a complete and perfect meal. This was a seafood meal that impressed from start to finish. The freshness of the ingredients was top-notch, and the cooking truly highlighted the natural flavors of the sea. The total price for this meal came to approximately 2,000 HKD per person. While it is a premium price, given the quality, freshness, and incredible taste. I came in a group of 4 for these dishes. I wish I came with more people so I could try more dishes. ถ้าใครเป็นคนไทยมีพี่พนักงานคนไทยอยู่น่ารักมาก ตามหาพี่เค้าได้ค่ะ
Loaf On is a Michelin starred restaurant that specializes in seafood, along with several more unusual dishes such as vinegar gai lan and mushroom chicken feet. The seafood, while undeniably fresh, is significantly overpriced for what it offers. Overall, the dishes are fairly decent, but they fall short of justifying the price point. The staff appeared to go out of their way to cater to foreign diners, which may leave locals feeling somewhat overlooked. Personally, I didn’t mind too much, as they largely left us alone for most of the meal. Overall, it’s a restaurant with some unique ideas and solid execution, but the high pricing and uneven service make it hard to fully recommend.
Since 2010, Luk Fook has consecutively received the Michelin one-star recommendation for 16 years, in recognition of its “authentic seafood flavors and Hakka traditions.” According to Chan Chi-wai,, one of the owners, because the founder’s family were fishermen, the menu has passed down dishes such as Ting Zai rice and sea-salt steamed fish; while the chef, being Hakka, excels at specialties like braised chicken feet with shiitake mushrooms and Hakka-style braised pork belly. The encounter between Sai Kung’s seafood and Hakka delicacies creates a perfect fusion, giving rise to a unique flavor.
