If you know, you know — this place is a true Hong Kong classic. Came by Lan Fong Yuen and honestly, it completely lived up to the hype. There’s something about these old-school cha chaan tengs that just hit different — no frills, a bit cramped, slightly chaotic, but full of character and soul. We ordered a mix of their signatures and everything delivered. The instant noodles with fried egg and pork chop/chicken chop were simple but insanely satisfying — that rich, slightly sweet soy-based sauce coating the noodles, paired with a perfectly runny egg, is comfort food at its best. The chicken wings were juicy with that classic HK-style glaze, and even the cabbage on the side somehow tasted better than it should. Of course, the star is the milk tea. Smooth, strong, and silky — you can tell why they’re famous for it. The iced version was refreshing and not overly sweet, while the hot one had that deep tea fragrance that lingers. Paired it with a crispy bun with butter, and that combination alone is worth the visit. Service is fast and efficient (don’t expect hand-holding), but that’s part of the authentic experience. Tables turn quickly, people come and go, and you just soak it all in. This isn’t fine dining — it’s heritage, nostalgia, and flavour packed into one iconic spot. If you’re in Hong Kong and don’t come here, you’re honestly missing out.

don’t fall prey to the tiktok reviews, the milk tea is mid- not thick enough and could not taste the tea. pineapple bun was q tough however the french toast did live up to the hype!! it was fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside. service was very quick and efficient atmosphere was overly stimulating - it’s a popular place and despite coming at opening hours we still had to squeeze with others overall it was quite pricey for the mid taste, but definitely worth a visit for the nostalgic aesthetic but won’t frequent it.

We came in late morning (10:30 am ish) and were seated immediately. Small spot with shared tables. Ordered a French toast, iced milk tea, iced lemon tea, and breakfast set B (comes with Ham, Sausages and Double Eggs, and a Crispy Bun with condensed milk and butter). Food and drinks came out very quickly, and you bring your written check to the front to pay. Service is efficient. Milk tea is probably one of the best I’ve had. Strong and not too sweet- love seeing the sock method! Lemon tea was just fine. French toast was buttery and excellent, and the meat plate was solid, not too salty. Tons of butter on the crispy bun. Definitely would return to try more!

My all-time favourite cha chaan teng! Went to Lan Fong Yuen in Central with my friend for scallion oil chicken chop lou ding, Hong Kong-style French toast and classic milk tea. First time trying the chicken chop lou ding — super tender, silky smooth and mixed with instant noodles, so satisfying! My friend loved the French toast, and the milk tea is still my #1 forever. 10/10, pure Hong Kong comfort❤️

On my first trip to Hong Kong, I decided to give this place a try since it’s quite famous for its long history and iconic breakfast. Plus, it was only about 200m away from my hotel. How to get there First, you’ll need to find your way down to the shop. I’ve included a photo for reference: look for this spot, head down to the basement, and follow the signs to the restaurant. The Queue & Experience The shop opens at 10:30 AM, but when I arrived at 10:00 AM, there were already 10 people in line ahead of me. Right on time, they opened the doors and seated everyone until the tables were full. Menu & Requirements I ordered three signature dishes and two drinks. Note: There is a minimum spend of 40 HKD and 1 drink per person, so keep that in mind when ordering. The service was incredibly fast—I had all my food and drinks on the table less than 5 minutes after ordering. The food was quite delicious and lived up to the hype! Important Tip There are two branches, and I noticed many people on Google Maps post photos and reviews under the wrong location. If you are staying in the Tsim Sha Tsui area, make sure you select the correct branch to avoid a long trek elsewhere! Enjoy your meal! 🥂
