Overall impression: 😊 A clean, well-located budget hostel that delivers exactly what it advertises. Very small rooms, but comfortable for a short stay and supported by genuinely friendly staff. What we liked: 😃 • Very clean throughout, including the bathroom • Extremely friendly and welcoming staff • Great location surrounded by cafés and restaurants • Small but pleasant common areas to relax outside the room What could be better: 🤔 • The room is very compact (11 m² including the bathroom), so space is tight — especially for luggage What we had: • Standard 11 m² room with ensuite • Shared/common lounge areas Good to know: 🧐 The room size is exactly as advertised, so there are no surprises — but you do need to be comfortable in a very compact space. Best suited to travellers who plan to be out exploring most of the day. Would we return? 🤨 Yes — for a short stay in Hong Kong where location, cleanliness and friendly service matter more than space.
Let's start off with the obvious positive: The location is about as central as you can get for this price-point. It's a bare-bones, no frills hostel where you can crash in between exploration sessions. Now onto the rest of my thoughts.. I preface this by saying that I have over 15 years experience staying in hostels, and that this one felt like one of the first ones I ever stayed at. The bunk beds are still oldschool metal ones that creak, squeak and move around. There are no lockers to keep your things and suitcases/packs can't fit under the bed. They do provide you with a literal cage to store things in, but you need to bring your own padlock (or rent one). No towel included in your stay, but again you can pay to rent one, plus provide warranty (no free exchanges after use either). There were charge points next to each bed but it looked like some sketchy wiring and sometimes the usb made false contact resulting in iffy charging. The hostel has no proper kitchen area; only one microwave and one fridge. They have a small common area next to the frontdesk (and my room) where people still talk super loudly after 11pm even though it's supposed to be quiet hours but they don't enforce it. They should include free earplugs in the price. The toilet and shower are were alright, and there were two hairdryers of which one worked decently. But the biggest issue for me was the insane flare-up of my dust allergy. I haven't had such a bad episode in well over a decade. Luckily, I do still always carry zyrtec, but even one per day was barely holding me together. Especially turning on the AC in the room was exacerbating the issue tenfold. But I can tell it's definitely also in the mattress and the bedding because any extra time I would spend in the room other than sleeping would make my eyes and throat itchy. For this reason alone, I would never stay here again.
Extremely Disappointed!!! This is the worst hostel I booked in my whole life. I booked this hostel for 3 nights, fully paid online on Booking . Com. I arrived at night around 12 am next day in the midnight, the hostel was closed, and I had to call the owner, he was talking on phone said that, I have to pay extra $100 for the “late checking fee”, and he asked me to put the money in the mail box, that he can watch on CCTV camera, then only he will tell about, where he kept the key 🔑, I am not checking early, first time I heard of this, I paid $600 fully online, he was demanding more money, he is a money minded person, I was coming from different country, on a long flight ✈️, I was tired, I had flue and cough 😷. I asked him, “can I sleep on the couch? He said No. He refused it, I had to sleep on the floor outside after paying $600. This is the worst hostel I stayed in my whole life. I had to sleep outside the door on the floor till 8 am next day in the morning till the receptionist come. The receptionist a Chinese Old woman, she was very rude. She treat guest as a trash. In her dictionary there are no welcoming and hospitality. She is running hospitality hotel services, But they don’t know the meaning of hospitality. This is one of the worst hostel and people here are very rude. This hostel is full of scammers, Scammers running this hostel, Please be aware of this trouble and Scam!!!!!
Good location sand comfortable hostel, but shitty service. I had a late flight and they charged me 130 HKD for entering the hostel that they could have mentioned at least in the description in booking. Also, I had to pay it already in the night in cash - it was 4 AM. The reason for it was the extra man power -I had to call a guy in the night who opened me the doors from another location. All the doors had a lock with numbers. For me it looked like a scam and not like a good hostel. At least the people who work der in person are nice.
During check-in, the bed assignment was given verbally by a blonde front desk staff member, with no confirmation of the bed number and no written or clearly marked information provided. I followed the instructions given. However, at around 11:00 PM, a front desk staff member suddenly entered the room and told me I was in the wrong bed, then demanded an immediate fine of HKD 100. What was even more unacceptable was the extremely rude attitude. The staff insisted I pay immediately while I was still drying my hair, and pressured me by saying that I would not be allowed to leave if I did not pay. Throughout the interaction, they repeatedly blamed me without any proper verification or communication process. If the bed assignment was unclear, the responsibility should lie with the hostel, not the guest. Entering the room late at night and handling the situation in an almost intimidating manner is completely inappropriate. This level of service and attitude does not reflect the friendliness or respect one would expect from a hostel. Travelers who value service quality and basic accommodation safety should think twice before staying here.
