The restaurant’s low rating makes more sense after my visit. I tried their signature bánh tôm, but it didn’t live up to my expectations. Compared to other places I’ve had it, the flavor was quite mild, and the batter was noticeably oily. For a fried dish, I usually expect it to be especially flavorful to justify the indulgence. And their service attitude is quit rude, for item they brought to our table without we ordering, they charged to our bill. We told them that we didn’t use/eat them, please take it off the bill, the server became cranky. That said, the location is a definite plus. It’s right by the lake and conveniently located across from Tran Quoc Temple, making it an easy stop before or after a visit to the area.
Delicious food and good like view, the prawn cakes are crispy and the sauce is flavourful. We ordered the beef and big prawns and they are also very fresh and delicious. just a little bit pricey, and you need to find good tables by yourself.
Located on Truc Bach Lake, this restaurant is typical for classic and traditional West Lake Shrimp Cake. The view is great but the price is higher comparative to other restaurants. The menu is varied and one funny thing is when I ordered different dish they do recommend me to order their traditional Shrimp Cake only 😹
Gemini recommended this place, and I really regret not checking the Google reviews first—otherwise, I never would have come here to suffer. The staff's attitude was poor, and they couldn't communicate in English at all. It was boiling hot both indoors and outdoors because they only turned on fans instead of the AC. I ordered a shrimp cake and waited for half an hour. When I finally followed up, I found out they hadn't even placed the order! To make matters worse, the shrimp cake didn't taste good, and there were bugs in the salad. Locals might like the food, but tourists definitely won't appreciate it. It’s not up to the standards at all. They charge an extra 8% fee for credit card payments. Avoid this restaurant at all costs!
SCAMMERS HERE We wanted to buy rice as it is written on the menu but they fixed me to take something else if I wanted to order. We left.
