It's a great contemporary gallery. Tho at my time of visit i am not partocuarly interested in the curation. It was Ruben Guerrero's work. There was no English translation so i used Google to translate the Spanish texts. And i was left more baffled after reading them. I am not a fan of abstractism. As i always feel There's no bridge between the work and audience. There's no engament on the level of emotional expressions. But this is a good space and would be good for rmgreat works. And that have a free toilet on level 2. Staff were nice too.
I am deeply concerned that this exhibition may further reinforce prejudice against contemporary art among Europeans who genuinely love classical painting. As an art researcher, I have visited nearly a hundred museums around the world, and I can honestly say that I was not moved by his work. It even lacks basic structure and technique — the kind of work that children might look at and say, “I could paint that too,” in an overly casual sense. The Alhambra was closed today, and I came here instead. However, my mood became extremely unpleasant during the exhibition. I translated the Spanish texts in an attempt to understand the work, but they were filled with philosophical and abstract, overly pretentious explanations. I like contemporary art, and I also like philosophy. But I find it difficult to say that this is art created with genuine care. A good artwork should be able to communicate and be felt simply by looking at the work itself. That said, the museum staff were very friendly, and admission was free. I truly appreciate the warmth and service of the Spanish people.
In the centre of Granada, this is an oasis of modern art. The exposition changes once or twice each year, so it is not clear in advance what you will encounter. I been here 5 times, and always found it worth my while. The building provides a great space for exhibiting big works of art. And most of the time, this is what they do. It is always peaceful and quiet in this museum. The only thing that you'll always hear, is the cracking if the wooden floors (don't underestimate this!).
Free entrance This is is a great place to appreciate arts. Just beside the Cathedral. And the staff were so nice and the Lady at the desk gave me a warm smile. Would definitely visit again.
This place is great. Carries pieces by JOSÉ GUERRERO. We bought a poster and it was a bargain at 8 euros. The staff placed it in a nice case for us.
