The location is quite simply the centre — the very centre — of Frankfurt, which immediately defines the experience. Everything of importance is within effortless reach. The rooms are genuinely spacious, offering comfort, calm and a sense of privacy that is increasingly rare in city hotels. The amenities are of a very high class, refined, discreet and impeccably maintained. The architecture is outstanding. Set within a historic, heritage-listed building originally opened in 1876, the hotel carries a deep sense of continuity and character. After the 1944 bombing, when only the façade survived, it was carefully restored — preserving its identity while elevating it to modern standards. This is not decorative or exaggerated luxury. It is true luxury: confident, timeless and quietly exceptional.
We stayed at the Steigenberger Icon Frankfurter Hof over Easter 2026 and were absolutely delighted. First and foremost, by the team – because in our view, this is what truly distinguishes a top hotel from a very good one: we were greeted everywhere, with exceptional friendliness yet complete discretion, always helpful, always with a smile – truly outstanding. The building itself is highly impressive: clearly historic in its façade and in details such as the tapestry-adorned staircases, yet modern and fully functional in the rooms. Fantastic mattresses and high-quality bedding with a choice of pillows ensured excellent comfort. This allowed us to enjoy cocktails with friends until 1 a.m. in the lively, beautifully wood-paneled Authors’ Bar with its extensive menu – and still wake up well-rested the next morning. Originally, I had only planned to visit the spa once – but it was so enjoyable that I ended up making time for it every day, especially for the exceptional hammam. Breakfast was equally outstanding – be sure to ask for “Eggs Benedict,” a classic at the Frankfurter Hof.
One of best hotel with best service. We spent our new year eve at this hotel. Everything was great. Unfortunately there was no free place for DJ night. Restaurant and DJ area was fully booked. We had to go outside place. Highly recommend for everyone! We love to visit again.
We came for 2 nights to Frankfurt and thought we should splurge in a nice hotel with a spa. Big mistake to pick this hotel. Two days in advance we asked to have a special preparation and they said they would do it, once we arrived it wasn’t done and no one could respond for it. It is supposed to be a 5 star hotel but the hotel is outdated, the carpets look like from a Holiday Inn Express, the elevators are old and super slow. The spa is a joke. It is expensive and it’s just sauna, some hard tiled chairs that are heated but it hurts to lay on them for more than 5 minutes, and a steam room which does not work. No pool or hot tub or a place to soak in at all.
Our stay at Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof was absolutely beautiful. The hotel itself is stunning — it has this timeless, classic elegance that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a historic movie. Every detail, from the grand entrance to the chandeliers and interior design, is incredibly aesthetic and luxurious. The atmosphere is calm, warm, and sophisticated. Walking through the lobby and hallways feels like an experience on its own. Everything is designed so thoughtfully, with a perfect balance between classic and refined luxury. The rooms were also very beautiful, clean, and comfortable, with a cozy yet elegant feel. Even the small details stood out — the hair conditioners and amenities were surprisingly high quality and really nice to use. Overall, this hotel is not just a place to stay, it’s an experience. If you appreciate classic, vintage-style luxury and beautiful interiors, you will absolutely love it.
