I was excited to see this museum due to the Monets Collection. I was not able to find a street parking nearby. I was able to find a parking garage 15 minutes away. This museum had art collection from the Middle Ages artifact to the present contemporary painting. It also had a large Monets Collection. The artwork was beautifully organized. They were impressive and inspirational. The ticket price was reasonable. The staff were friendly.
An art museum founded in 1815 and considered one of the most important museums in Germany. Its collection is arranged chronologically, allowing visitors to trace around 700 years of art history from the medieval period to modern times in a single visit. The museum combines a historic building with a modern extension. Classical art is mainly displayed above ground, while modern art is exhibited in the underground galleries. From the terrace, you can enjoy views over the Main River and Frankfurt’s Mainhattan skyline. ※ Included in the MuseumsuferTicket.
I visited the Städel Museum during the event Nacht der Museen, and the experience was amazing. I really enjoyed exploring the gallery, especially the works by different artists who portrayed their own interpretations of Étretat. Each piece offered a unique perspective, which made the exhibition very engaging. The overall experience felt almost surreal, and it was truly memorable✨️
Very good museum. The Money exhibition was very good put together. If i must say one negative thing, its that the rooftop terrace is not reachable by elevator only by stairs (as fas as I could determine)
The Städel Museum is arguably one of the most renowned art museums in Germany. It houses a number of well-known works, as well as exhibits from the popular Romantic and Impressionist periods. Compared to the Hamburger Kunsthalle, however, the museum falls slightly short of expectations in terms of the size of its collection and visitor numbers (Hamburger Kunst-Halle is quieter). Nevertheless, it is almost a must-see when visiting Frankfurt.
