It feels like you're being invited into a cosy family home to stay over for dinner. The shared dish for 2 is a great assembly of different tastes and very enjoyable. The restaurant is fully vegetarian, and I didn't feel like I missed meat. The other dishes smelled very nice as well but of course a stomach can hold only so much, so we will have to come back again. Fun fact: you get to take home the menu (which doubles as a map) and a pretty postcard. This is the kind of restaurant where I gladly give a tip.

A staple of Florence, this shop has been around for 20 years. The owner is very friendly and always around. We ordered the veggie platter and fried artichoke and it was all very fresh and delicious. One of the best meals we had in Italy. Highly recommend.

Reservations are essential at this small restaurant - especially if you are planning on being there during a busy season. The food is excellent - best fried artichokes in all of Italy. The staff was very friendly and even provided games for our littlest diners.

The chef was really nice, but the head guy Simcha, the one with the white beard and hair, yelled at us at first. In the end, though, he started telling us about all the famous people who’ve eaten at his restaurant. Also, the bathrooms were clean — not sure what that other review was talking about when they said they were disgusting.

We walked in as a group of 9 without a reservation and the owner accommodated us with no problem. We ordered many dishes and shared. Everything was good. We especially liked the caponata, pesto pasta, mushroom and cream pasta, pizza, and lentil soup. Very affordable prices too. The highlight is the owner and the very personal decor in this homey restaurant. He’s an incredibly interesting man with a good sense of humor. We were so happy to find this restaurant and would definitely return if we come again to Florence.
