An amazing palace. We visited for the Rothko exhibition and it did not disappoint. The building is well equipped with lifts and also a cafe on the ground floor. You can relax around the water feature before or after your visit.
Palazzo Strozzi is such a stunning blend of classic architecture and contemporary art. The space feels timeless, and the contrast between the Renaissance courtyard and the massive wooden sculptures is truly breathtaking. This installation is beautifully crafted the texture, the scale, the emotion everything feels powerful and incredibly well-made. A place that constantly surprises you and makes you appreciate the dialogue between old and new. Definitely worth a visit.
We stumbled upon Strozzi Palace by complete surprise and it ended up being one of the coolest moments of our trip to Florence! We originally went in just to buy some water at a shop nearby and suddenly found ourselves face-to-face with the incredible large-scale installation KAWS: The Message. The artwork was massive — made out of wood and towering over the courtyard. It was both playful and striking at the same time. We couldn’t stop taking pictures! The contrast between the modern KAWS sculptures and the historic Renaissance architecture of the palace made the whole scene even more breathtaking. Even if you don’t plan to visit an exhibit, Strozzi Palace is worth checking out — you never know what amazing contemporary art you might stumble upon!
Palazzo Strozzi is a must‑see for lovers of Renaissance architecture and contemporary art. Begun in 1489 for Filippo Strozzi the Elder and completed in the early 16th century, the palace’s rusticated stone façade and harmonious inner courtyard are striking. The venue hosts rotating temporary exhibitions, public programmes and occasional outdoor installations in the cortile—some shows feel perfectly integrated, others lean toward spectacle. Visitor experience is generally positive: signage is clear and ticketing is straightforward, but audio‑guide availability depends on the exhibition and staff helpfulness can vary; book popular exhibitions in advance. Located on Piazza Strozzi, it’s a short walk from the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria and the Arno, so easy to include in a central Florence itinerary. Expect 45–90 minutes for a visit; arrive early to avoid crowds and to appreciate the architecture with fewer people. Recommended for architecture and art enthusiasts who enjoy dynamic cultural venues rather than static period interiors.
Visited for the incredible Beato Angelico exhibit, a once in a century exhibit for the early Renaissance painting. The exhibits reunites paintings cattered across Tuscany and over the world. It really gives an idea of the colors and details used by the master. Beautiful spaces in the Renaissance Palace.
