5ecinque is an intimate, family-owned restaurant serving simple, elegant food in the heart of Oltrarno. The interior is beautifully illuminated and thoughtfully designed, down to the arrangements of foraged blooms on each table. Similar attention is paid to the sourcing of ingredients. 5ecinque’s Ligurian-inflected menu is heavy on seasonal organic produce, procured directly from local farms or the family’s garden in the Chianti. The restaurant also offers a curated list of low-intervention wines and Florentine kombucha. A perfect meal might start with a green salad dressed with olive oil and salt—order it with seeds—or a wedge of bloomy buccia di rospo cheese served with a swipe of assertive onion jam. House specialties include superlative cecina and Recco-style focaccia, baked fresh and served warm. Every table should order one, or both! If artichokes are in season, the caponata di carciofi is especially satisfying. For dessert, their tiramisù is my favorite in Florence. 5ecinque is one of those rare places equally well-suited to special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, visitors) and more routine rituals of dining (work lunches, meetings, the particular horror of an empty fridge). Groups, pairs, and solo diners alike will find themselves accommodated with warmth and hospitality. This is the kind of restaurant where it feels natural to become a regular. Whether you are local or visiting, I cannot recommend highly enough 5ecinque for a wonderful meal in Florence.

Fantastic vegetarian and vegan restaurant, serving great food and tasty wine. We had the cecina, pesto and potato spaghetti and chickpea stew (local dish) - all delicious! Great atmosphere and service too. Quite reasonably priced too - the portions aren’t massive but that’s reflected in the price, so make sure to try lots of things!! Sorry for poor photos!

A cute spot to go out for dinner, with a real nice atmosphere. Not extremely touristy. The chickpea-croquettes and the seasonal salad were a little bland, but the saffron risotto as well as the chickpea flatbread with cow cheese were very delicious. The waitress was very kind and welcoming. Everything seemed well thought through.

Beautiful, clean environment with an excellent atmosphere, located in a nice neighborhood. The menu offers great choices and a good selection of wine labels, and the service is pleasant and friendly. We ordered risotto and pasta, but I would say the risotto was below average.

We spent a great lunch, the food is 100% vegetarian and the quality of every ingredient is exceptional. The farinata was worth it the visit, the pesto was with a bit too much garlicky for my taste. The ambience is clean and cozy, the service a bit slow but ok.
