Five stars across the board. We had a fantastic experience at Restaurant Martin Wishart. The service was attentive, polished, and highly professional without ever feeling stiff or suffocating. The room had a calm confidence that matched the food beautifully. We opted for the 25th anniversary tasting menu, and it was clear throughout why the restaurant has maintained its Michelin status for so long. The cooking was firmly rooted in classical French technique, but the menu felt current and expressive, with thoughtful use of ingredients and flavour influences from Italy and Japan. There was an excellent balance of seafood, seasonal products and duck. Overall, this was a refined and memorable meal that delivered exactly what one hopes for from a long-standing Edinburgh fine dining institution. Highly recommended.

A beautiful, small restaurant in Leith. I think I would define it as steeped in classic French cooking, without the associated heaviness. What really stood out – in a positive way – was the service that was outstanding. Second to none. On a more critical note, I don’t think all the dishes (we took the anniversary tasting menu) deliver on neither taste nor technique. For the most part the ingredients used were top quality and very beautiful. But the compositions of the dishes made it somewhat difficult to fully decipher the different flavors. And the overuse of foams – which dilutes flavor – distracted from what was otherwise delicious sauces. Based on the service, they really do want to deliver the best dining experience possible. And with a few technical tweaks I believe they can.

Incredible Dining Experience! We had an absolutely amazing time at Restaurant Martin Wishart. The staff were fantastic, incredibly attentive, and so friendly. They made us feel truly welcome from start to finish. The wine pairing menu was a wonderful surprise. It opened my eyes to so many new varieties. I usually stay far away from red wine, but the selection here completely changed my mind! The food was just as memorable. I tried crab for the first time and loved it. I also tried the banana soufflé for the first time, and oh my goodness, it is now my absolute favourite dessert!Thank you so much to the wonderful team for a perfect evening. We cannot wait to return!

There is no doubt about it,if you are looking for somewhere extra special to celebrate, with over 25 years holding his Michelin Star, then,Restaurant Martin Wishart down at the shore in Leith should be at the top of your list. Classical French Cuisine ,our lunch today was nothing short of outstanding. Featuring delicious seasonal produce with matching wines we could not have asked for more. The staff were so knowledgeable and its always a pleasure listening to the sommelier describing the wine you are about to have,I can highly recommend that you treat yourself to a visit in the very near future.

Had an excellent vegetarian lunch experience. Very tasty food and top notch service. A first rate restaurant that Scotland should be proud off.
