Extremely disappointing experience overall. The food presentation was unacceptable—it looked careless and poorly put together, far below what you would expect for the prices charged. The biryani, priced at £9.50, was particularly underwhelming in both quality and portion size, making it feel significantly overpriced. Serving three dishes on one small plate was impractical and uncomfortable, making the dining experience awkward. For £11, the portion size was very small and did not offer good value for money. At the very least, there should be basic attention to proper plating and presentation. The service was equally poor and only added to the negative experience. To make matters worse, the condition of the toilet was unacceptable, raising serious concerns about hygiene and overall standards. Overall, it’s difficult to understand how this place meets expectations. Definitely not recommended.
Called into the Mosque Kitchen as a family of four for a modestly priced meal. We ordered the 3 curries with rice, a Chicken burger meal, a small Doner Kebab & a Doner meal box. The curries with rice were excellent. The rest of it was so-so. In conclusion, I would return for a curry but probably not a burger or kebab.
Cheap and cheerful, budget friendly, tasty curry in a hurry. Cafeteria style self service. If you're visit Edinburgh and have a brain, then bring yourself here. I had a delicious tender lamb Rogan, pillau rice, and naan for only a tenner.
We went for dinner before a concert. Very good currys, vegetarian options available, good portions at great prices. Buffet style service, you select what you want and they serve at the counter so no table service. Also no alcohol but that's not a problem. Basic seating / table arrangement which works fine.
Such good food and choice from the excellent Mosque kitchen. Lots of solo dinners but there are great big, round, tables for groups. Clear menu, buffet style set up you walk along and are served from. I had the mushroom curry, some saag and Dahl with rice and I ordered a separate garlic naan. Absolutely delicious, so flavourful, big portions, samosa and bhaji available, meat options available too but I did not look at these. Various drinks available and an ice cream counter for afters. Good to see the food was as good as years ago. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
