A fantastic find! Just walking by and found this gem of a restaurant. As Simon Rimmer of Greens made black pudding for vegetarians, so this place offers Haggis fritters. Both unlikely options for the clientele but both fantastic in their taste and presentation. Gorgeous wine list too. Wines by the glass rating 4.0 on Vivino, this place doesn’t short change customers, it ‘upgrades’ them! Will wish to return anytime I come back to Edinburgh.
Some of the best vegetarian food i've ever had. I adore how the menu is creative with the vegetarian or vegan dishes they offer (there are NGCI options available too!), they've clearly put a lot of thought into what flavours work well together and how to create good food. I was particularly impressed by the celeraic dauphinoise, the right kind of texture and perfect creaminess (double cooked chunky chips have to have a shout out too). Make sure you also dabble in their desserts, the apple sticky toffee pudding was the real deal.
Elegant and modern vegetarian dining in the heart of Edinburgh! Every dish was artfully plated and delicious, especially the smoked tofu. I loved the dessert, with the inventive flavours combining fresh berries, cream and rich chocolate! A must-visit for plant-based fine dining.
The menu is varied and appeals to a lot of tastes, we chose here as my mum is vegetarian and we enjoy trying pretty much anything. The haggis fritters I got were underseasoned and were bon bons rather than a fritter in batter. The hummus was also underseasoned, and the bread was burnt in places. The 'baby potatoes' served with the main course haggis were on the... larger size and a little under done. The udon noodle dish 2 of our party had was warm rather than hot, and the dessert was rather underwhelming as the chocolate cup was thick, and took a hammer to shatter. Maybe nitpicking but we were expecting a little bit more.
I had a fantastic meal with my wife on Saturday 8th November. My wife is vegetarian, it was lovely for her to know she could eat anything on the menu. I had the veggie stew with dauphinois and cheese filled dumpling, it was the best vegetarian meal I’ve eaten.
