We just wrapped up three nights at Villa Dubrovnik and it was not nearly long enough. We’ve stayed at numerous five star hotels but Villa Dubrovnik stands out as exceptional. Five stars don’t do it justice. The physical property is outstanding and the restaurants and bars are great. The terrace with chaise lounges right on the sea was a great spot to chill in the afternoon. The 15 minute walk to town (and there’s a free shuttle during certain hours) was perfect. It was convenient but much more peaceful being a bit away from the Old Town. We rented the Romantiko Suite and received an email from the rooms manager a few days before arrival that there was a technical issue with the room that couldn’t be resolved before our stay so we had to be moved to a grand deluxe sea view room. They gave us a very good rate and bought us dinner at Pjerin (outstanding food and wine) for the inconvenience. The “downgrade” room was gorgeous and so well appointed. Well laid out and love the design and large balcony. I always say what makes a hotel great is when there is an issue, how the resolve it. We appreciated having this issue ironed out in advance of our arrival versus being surprised when checking in. The part that really makes Villa Dubrovnik stand out besides the physical property and setting is the staff. It’s one of the best trained staff we’ve encountered and everyone was genuinely warm and friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Usually at any hotel, you come across one or two indifferent employees. That was not the case here from the room cleaner, front desk, bar and restaurant staff and spa team. Literally everybody was great. We’ll definitely be returning.
Incredible hotel, one of the best I have seen in my life. Sitting at breakfast on the terrace with the sound of the waves and the birds singing is just magical. The rooms designed with every small detail and the view to the sea leave nothing to be desired.
We had the pleasure of staying at Villa Dubrovnik for 4 nights at the beginning of our honeymoon last month. From the moment we arrived it was truly magical and a one of a kind experience. We highly recommend.
Recently renovated and redesigned by Arthur Casas, this iconic hotel has, through various owners, shapes, and restorations, managed to preserve everything that makes it not only Dubrovnik’s most exceptional and exclusive retreat – but the most remarkable in all of Croatia. What truly sets it apart is its phenomenal staff, composed of local experts deeply rooted in the region’s history, gastronomy, and traditions of hospitality; its direct access to the sea, where the raw, authentic beauty of the Mediterranean has been carefully protected; and the sense of privacy and warmth that defines every guest’s experience. The recent renovation, thoughtful redesign, and refined new branding have preserved all the qualities that first made us fall in love with Villa Dubrovnik – while adding layers of charm and beauty we never imagined were possible.
First of all, the photos currently shown online are outdated – the entire hotel has been completely renovated. The results are breathtaking: our bathroom was entirely made of marble, and every detail of the design reflected the highest quality and style. We were more than satisfied – we were impressed. Breakfast was absolutely first-class, with impeccable presentation and taste. The service team was friendly, highly professional, and consistently attentive without being intrusive. The location, the tranquility, the atmosphere – everything was simply perfect.
