Our group of 8 found a table outside and this evening kicked off our Dubrovnik holiday properly. The service was attentive and FUN. (They obviously picked up our vibe) The menu was diverse enough that everyone could find something they really liked. Pizza - the dough was very good Mussels - fresh and plenty Pasta - sauces were definitely well seasoned with depth. One note: the toilets are down a long flight of stairs. In case you have a mobility concern.

We stoped by for early lunch. They have 90% table empty. Some are reserved. Told us only have 45 min meal time. When we almost finished, heard they told another couple has an hour. By the time we finished, seems more than an hour sitting there including waiting for the meal served, those reserved tables are still empty. Make me wonder how they manage it🤔. Seems to me that Croatia’s male waiters mostly don’t smile to the customers except to their own people. We had sea bass and calamari, both cooked pretty well but very small portions. Not enough for a meal. No bread provided either. One of the calamari has a lot of “sand”. It did not clean well. The rest of them are delicious though 😋

I started the evening quite disappointed because the toilettes were quite disgusting… To be honest Dimitri, our waiter, though he seemed a bit cocky, was amazing and extremely efficient. He even smuggled a blanket and some grapa for us. The food was very good, though they missed the dessert. Overall a good experience. Well done Dimitri, I hope you enjoy the concert… and the girls!😉

Another excellent Croatian restaurant with excellent food and service. About 100 meters east of Ploče Gate . I had the mussels and Tagliatelle with seafood and my daughter had Šporki makaruli which were all perfectly prepared and very tasty.

Pleasant, conveniently located restaurant with nicely prepared food, and okay prices given tourist locale. We ate lunch here, the mussels buzaru style were fresh and nicely prepared and came with bread, the seafood tagliatelle had nice squid, mussels, and tiny shrimp in a tasty red sauce. They did not have draft beer despite that being shown on the menu, a tiny bit disappointing, but the bottled beer Vukovarsko was good. Also had a glass of local white wine. Service was nothing special, pleasant enough, but did not really like the nice waiter pushing me to tip at payment time, so that backfired for him, as I understand it tips are only for exceptionally good service here in Croatia? Total bill 45 euro for two.
