Nothing special, staff seemed a bit over worked and dry. Perhaps tired of tourists as location is pretty central in old town of Dubrovnik. I ordered black Risotto, was advised by my host, couldn’t finish it as rice was overloaded with not much meat to go with. Flavor was not impressive to compensate as well for my taste buds. There was no spirit in the experience as I was pitched by my host.
Their risoto are similar to the Spanish style paella. For me, the black risoto lacks flavour, a bit bland. But the seafood risoto was good! Seafood flavours from the ingredients and broth, with tomato based sauce. The prawns Bouzzara was the main highlight! Croatia’s prawns has a distinct taste…naturally sweet and meaty. The sauce is also tomato based with some bits of vegetables. Good to have some bread on the side!
I've been hearing how great the oysters are from Croatia so I made sure to find a local restaurant that served these fresh. This is a great place for seafood so you should drop by when you get a a chance. The oysters themselves are fresh, bring and firm. A delicious way to end the day.
It was one of the best restaurants I visited in Dubrovnik. It must be a relatively reasonable price in the old town. It was crowded, but we were able to get a table right away. The mussels were nice with a bit solty. The black squid ink risotto had a strong flavor, great. The green tagliatelle with shrimp was creamy and one of my best memories for my trip. The staffs were so kind and friendly. I would like to go and eat again.
When I last stay in Dubrovnik Old Town in an Airbnb rental next to the harbour for 2 fantastic weeks in August 2011, with my wife and 2 daughters, we often enjoyed wonderful evening meals at the Kamenice seafood restaurant in one of main squares near the harbour, which was very popular with locals and where we always had to queue up for a table. It was very quiet when my wife and I arrived shortly after 4pm on Easter Sunday for a nostalgic return visit today and we were seated immediately, however, it was getting busy with a few large groups of locals arriving as we were leaving. I had their signature dish of black ink squid risotto, my wife had a plate of spaghetti bolognaise, we shared a mixed salad and both enjoyed a cold refreshing pint of our favourite Croatian Karlovacko beer. The food was very tasty but I thought it was fairly pricey at 59€ in total, however, it was in line with other restaurants in prime spots of the Old Town. Sadly our return visit didn't live up to our previous memorable dinning experiences in 2011☹️
