A very simple unique experience completely focused on the book itself. Your entry will give you and the group you are with time with the historical displays and the book itself. There is an outer room with large displays and explanations of the book and it's history. The displays are quite detailed and give a good background. The book itself is in separate room, don't enter if you are not done looking at this historical displays. You can take your time I'm here, but no photos or video allowed. Last thing to note, and (seemingly) can't be said enough times - the book is only open to two pages each day. Want to see different pages, you will need to come back.

Brilliant place to visit. Loved it. Great management for getting in from friendly staff. Loved the exhibition giving info about the Book of Kells and other religious manuscripts and how they fit into Irish history. Seeing the Book of Kells was a real life highlight too. Then upstairs to The Long Room and that was fantastic too. Highly recommend. Make sure you book and make sure you take earphones to listen to the commentary via your smartphone. Very well stocked gift shop too. Lots of choice and reasonable prices.

Much had changed since my last visit in December 2012! (But for the better) Although I was in shock when we entered the library hall to see majority of the books removed from the shelves. They are currently undergoing restorative efforts. 👏 Nonetheless still a shock. Appreciated the new female busts that were added to podiums. It’s about time! Truly enjoyed the updated experience as a whole. The interactive portion at the end was rather fascinating!

Wow wow wow. I didn't do this on my first Dublin visit and regretted it so absolutely made it my priority this time round. This is a fascinating visit without being too long or wordy. The audio guide is actually good, digestible and I recommend using it. A private tour guide was being very insistent that I wasn't in her group ( I wasn't trying to be) but this is not the fault of trinity or the staff at the experience. The way they've diversified, making the renovation and restoration of the space part of the exhibit is actually incredibly interesting. I think it's great value for money especially as the cost contributes to the restoration and preservation of such an important space and artefact. I know it's one of the biggest tourist experiences in Dublin but honestly it's for good reason. A real bucket list visit.

The visit was very interesting, especially seeing the famous Book of Kells. It is one of the oldest most beautiful manuscripts, with incredible detail and history behind it. The old library also looks spectacular and creates a truly unique atmosphere. Unfortunately most of the original books have now been transferred to better protected locations for preservation, the library still feels impressive and full of history. It is definitely a place worth visiting for anyone interested in culture, and history.
