Magical. This is not an expected quality experience for me. It's starts mild and builds all the way to the top floor. Stunning if you're into Joyce or any other major Irish authors.
Went here on a guided tour with my class, and overall it was an interesting experience. The guide was really enthusiastic when telling about the different exhibitions, which made it easier to not loose focus halfway through. 😊
Great museum! It was worth attending the guided tour, because our guide told many stories about famous authors, their books, and how they relate to Irish history. Exciting and absolutely worth visiting!
Visited on a Friday (walk in), and did the regular tour, came back on Sunday afternoon (reservation) for the guided house tour. Both are very informative about writers, especially Joyce, Yeats, and Wilde, and also the history of the two houses the museum is housed in. Each takes at least an hour.
A nice little museum, neighboring the gardens with a cafe and bookshop. We happened to stumble across it and enjoyed a couple hours wandering around. If you enjoy Irish authors, this is a great place to be.
