Ravi Restaurant is a true Dubai gem! Started in 1978 by Chaudary Abdul Hameed, a Pakistani immigrant, it began with a simple dream: to serve tasty, authentic Pakistani food that’s affordable for everyone. With a small loan from his brother, he opened a humble eatery in old Dubai, and the rest is history. Over the years, Ravi has become much more than just a restaurant. It’s a place full of community, hard work, and the multicultural spirit of the UAE. The food is delicious, the vibe is genuine, and it’s a must visit for both locals and visitors! Favorites: Boneless Tandoori Chicken, and Tikka Masala, absolutely delicious!
Always good food at Ravi year in year. We got Lucky to get rta parking right in front! Ravi Restaurant, Satwa A visit to the original Ravi Restaurant in Satwa is a pilgrimage to the heart of "Old Dubai." Since opening its doors in 1978, this legendary institution has transformed from a humble roadside eatery into a global culinary landmark, famously visited by the likes of Anthony Bourdain and Snoop Dogg. The Ambience & Heritage There is a profound beauty in Ravi’s lack of pretension. It serves as a living museum of Dubai’s rapid evolution, remaining largely unchanged while the city's skyline rose around it. • Authentic Spirit: The interior is famously "no-frills"—functional, bustling, and honest. With its plastic tablecloths and vibrant green-and-white branding, it exudes a nostalgic charm that feels genuinely "cool" in its simplicity. • Cultural Crossroad: The atmosphere is electric, where you will find business professionals in suits dining alongside laborers and tourists. It is a rare space where the social fabric of the city is woven together over shared plates. • Street-Side Energy: Choosing a table on the sidewalk during cooler months allows you to witness the rhythmic pulse of Satwa, offering a dining experience that is deeply connected to the neighborhood's history. The Culinary Experience The food is a celebration of authentic Pakistani soul food—robust, unapologetic, and consistently delicious. • Chicken Tikka & Mutton Karahi: The meats are tender and infused with a smoky, spiced depth that only decades of perfected recipes can produce. • Dal Fry & Fresh Naan: The dal is earthy and comforting, served steaming hot and best enjoyed by mopping it up with their legendary, tandoor-fresh naan or roti. Service & Value The service is impressively efficient. The waitstaff, many of whom have been there for years, manage the constant crowds with a practiced grace. It remains one of the most affordable high-quality meals in the UAE, proving that true luxury lies in flavor rather than gold leaf.
I have been to this low profile but quite a Dubai legend Pakistani restaurant - Ravi in Satwa a few times over the last almost 2 decades. Initially I had high expectations which was not met but later I tempered my expectations & was suitably happy. ▪︎And another review done a few years back- The eponymous pakistani restaurant in Dubai. At a corner of Satwa, this popular restaurant is almost always busy. A small to medium canteen type seating area inside and an outside regular area covers all. No interior decor or ambience of note. Some staffs are south Indian and some pakistani. Service is decent. One fellow took my order and then disappeared for 5 mins. When I started to get alarmed, another fellow appeared and declared my request of Keema fry is not available. So I opted for Chicken Kadai at 12 dhs. And a roti at 1.5 dhs. Served promptly in 5 mins. There were three large pieces of fresh chicken in kadhai. It's very different from the famous Peshawari kadai. This is more with gravy and a very slight tinge of lemon is added. And it tasted so lovely. Chicken was also very fresh. The roti was also soft and warm. Hand wash area was clean, which sometimes is an issue in other places. Overall I am very satisfied. Someday i have to come for the biriyani too. ●Points in favour- Excellent quality of food. Large amount. Fast service . And wide variety of Pakistani food. At a very budget friendly price. ●Against-Basic simple indo-chinese food. No ambience. Cheap Canteen type atmosphere - some may not like it. Only pakistani items. Some items not available. They have a slightly upmarket section named Ravi Palace , just adjacent to this building. I need to visit them to see if they offer some better quality of experience- this has been closed since. ▪︎On a recent visit, I had the 'Mutton Peshawari' at 35 dhs with a 'tandoori roti' which was quite tasty fare. The mutton was nice & soft, not too much bones and quality was very nice. The gravy was lip-smacking with the delicious mix of oil & spices. And here is my review of march, 2026- A new Collab of Beau french burgers and Ravi restaurant- pakistani cuisine from Satwa has created a sensation in Dubai these days. • 'Sheek Smash burger' at 35 dhs and Ruh-afzaa lemonade and chaat masala fries ( Total 60 dhs ). The Brioche bun by 'Beau burgers from Jumeira' was tasty and big. The Smash style Sheek kabab patties from 'Ravi' was very good. The cabbage pieces were pretty hard and I didn't like them. Also a slice of tomato, some mint sauce was in the burger. The fries were decent- usual french fries with some chat masala sprinkled generously on them. The ruh-afza was just an ordinary red syrup type. Overall 60 dhs was too much for this- in my opinion. Available between 630 pm- 1130 pm and only on Dine-in in Ravi restaurant Satwa branch. Non stop multinational crowd was there even at 1030 pm when I went.
I was craving Pakistani food and heard this place is one of the best in Dubai so I had to check it out. The achari chicken is so tasty. The rogni naan is something I’ve never really tried before, it was very unique and super delicious! The naan with the achari chicken is the perfect combo. I couldn’t believe the taste of it, it’s something that stays on your mind long after you’ve finished eating. The service is also very good, they kept checking up on me and asking how I was going and if I liked the food. They also offered more naan. I like the uniform of the workers, the shirt is very eye catching. The restaurant is well-maintained and clean. I had a really good time and definitely will be back!
Tucked away in the bustling neighborhood of Satwa, Ravi Restaurant is a hidden gem that serves up some seriously delicious traditional Pakistani cuisine. This no-frills eatery might not win any interior design awards, but what it lacks in decor, it totally makes up for in flavor and authenticity. Walking in feels like stepping into a classic Pakistani dining spot - simple, unpretentious, and brimming with character. The real star here is definitely the food. Their Mutton Peshawari is an absolute knockout - tender meat that practically melts in your mouth, packed with rich, aromatic spices that'll transport you straight to the streets of Pakistan. The Lamb Chops are equally impressive, grilled to perfection with a smoky char that's simply irresistible. And let's talk about their Dal - creamy, comforting, and so flavorful it could easily be a meal on its own. What really elevates the experience is their freshly made roti, which comes out hot and perfectly soft, ideal for scooping up every last bit of those incredible sauces. The best part? This culinary journey won't break the bank. Ravi offers an incredibly affordable dining experience that makes authentic Pakistani cuisine accessible to everyone. The casual, welcoming atmosphere and consistently delicious food make Ravi Restaurant a must-visit spot for anyone craving genuine Pakistani flavors in Dubai. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!
