We had a great dining experience at Carna. Last night we celebrated our anniversary. We chose a different steakhouse but they cancelled an hour before our reservation so we had to check for other option and stumble upon Carna. We didnt had any problem booking last minute online and upon entering we were impressed by how good the atmosphere was. Food was great! I loved the Grilled Lettuce Salad. I never thought that grilling lettuce will be that good along with the truffle honey dressing. Wagyu Picanha and Lamb Chops were cooked to perfection. Muscolosa was the drink recommended to my husband which he liked a lot and ordered another one. Service was great as well. They are very attentive. I forgot the name of the lady who assisted us but she was very nice and helpful. One filipina lady also who assisted us was very nice and helpful. Overall, we were very happy and satisfied with the service and food. We are so happy that the other reservation was cancelled and we ended up here instead. LOL
I rarely brave downtown Dubai these days-traffic has become an endurance test-but for a special occasion, I was beyond excited for Carna. From the moment we sat down, the service set the tone. Our main server was genuinely delightful-personable, witty, and refreshingly real. Having lived in this city long enough, I can confidently say: it’s rare to find a server who connects beyond the script. Her warmth carried us through the evening with a few good laughs. Unfortunately, the seating situation left a small sting. I’d booked well in advance and requested a specific table, but was told it was already taken. Fair enough… except that table remained empty for our entire 2.5 hour visit. It’s a small detail, but it did dampen the aftertaste. Pacing was a bit shaky at the start… our mis-en-place waited patiently beside us while my second drink nearly disappeared 😅 but once dishes began arriving, the rhythm improved. Food-wise, it lived up to its reputation in parts. The short ribs and sausage were outstanding-tender, flavorful, and precisely what this steakhouse does best. But the Beetroot Tart was disappointing, dry and hard even under our determined knife work 🫣, and the Charred Glazed Carrots were quite hard nor glazed enough. The verdict? Stick with the meat. Dessert deserved 👍🏻👍🏻 The house-made pistachio ice cream’s flavour was lovely, and the lemon cake-soft, spongy, and the fragrant was pure joy. I’d return for that cake alone!
I saw the restaurant pop up on my social media feed & was intrigued by the fact that Butcher Dario himself was going to be in Carna for a few days. Therefore, I decided to reserve a table & go check it out. The restaurant is located on the 47th floor & had a stunning view, thanks to fully glassed walls in the shop & even the washrooms. The entrance is decorated with a Dario picture wall & a meat hanging cabinet. I had a cocktail, few glasses of wine, foie gras, tartare, carpaccio, sausage, olive oil cake & ristretto. I loved the food. Service by Jennyfer was on point & efficient. The lady singing as she roamed around the room elevated the experience. I was mildly disappointed that the special set menu was designed for sharing only - not for solo diner. And the restaurant's social media content creator was really getting into people's personal spaces as he was capturing the evening. I felt that a bit tacky & impolite for such a classy restaurant. Overall a great evening!
Buckle up buttercups, because this week's culinary caper took me soaring (literally) to the 74th floor of the super-slick SLS hotel to sink my teeth into Carna by the legendary Dario Cecchini. Now, I've seen a few steak joints in my time, some looking like they’ve been decorated by a committee of particularly uninspired cowboys, but Carna? Carna is different. It's got that kind of hushed, classy swagger that whispers "we know our way around a prime cut" without having to resort to neon signs screaming about 'man-sized portions'. And the view, oh the view! You could practically see next Monday from up there. Of course, the real star of this meaty show is Dario Cecchini himself. Fifty years of dedication, passion, and presumably a whole lot of very sharp knives have gone into crafting this menu, and you can taste that legacy in every single, glorious bite. The staff glide around the dimly lit space with the kind of quiet efficiency that suggests they’ve been trained by culinary ninjas. And the food? Well, let’s just say my tastebuds are still sending me thank you notes. That grilled sourdough with the chef’s butter and Dario’s olive oil was a deceptively simple starter that sang of freshness. The beef tartare? Oh my word. It was an exercise in textural and flavour perfection. Then came the Flank steak, a 250g slab of Australian Wagyu that practically dissolved on the tongue, accompanied by a whipped mash so heavenly it should probably come with its own set of angel wings. Even the desserts – the Stracciatella ice cream with olive oil and that intriguing Latte concoction – were a masterclass in flavour combinations. So, if you're looking for a steak experience that's high on quality, atmosphere, and a healthy dose of culinary pedigree, Carna is definitely worth the splurge.
Carna, a renowned and beloved dining spot at the SLS Hotel in Dubai, has just begun serving lunch on weekends. I had to try it, and I was not disappointed. The restaurant looks very different by day, and you can appreciate stunning views of Dubai from the 74th floor, as well as the large, impressive artwork covering an entire wall. The menu is simplified, offering a set menu with three options for appetizers, three main courses and two options for dessert. There is still plenty of choice and variety, and since we were a party of three, we managed to cover most of the menu, and each dish was superb. All the appetisers were lovely together, and both the cannelloni and the picanha were the favourites from the main course. The beverage pairing was also superb. You must try Dario's own vintage, which is not available anywhere else in Dubai. Lastly, the flan is an absolute must-have and should not be missed. The staff were on top form, and we were graciously served by Princess, who was lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and I am absolutely sure Carna will become a favourite lunch spot for meat lovers on weekends.
