An unpretentious, highly authentic Yemeni restaurant where diners sit on carpeted floors to eat slow-cooked meats and traditional flatbreads.
- Signature
- Fahsa, a bubbling lamb stew served in a clay pot with giant tandoor bread.

Food at Bandar Aden had some great moments — like the mandi and fresh bread — but the place was quite packed and we waited longer than expected for a table. The service was decent, but the busy atmosphere made it less comfortable. Still a good spot for authentic food if you’re okay with crowds.
Maybe one of the well known Yemeni restaurants in the Souq Waqif. But the interesting topic is that all of the staff including the chefs are from Bangladesh. It’s quite a busy restaurant, so you need to wait in a queue line to get your table. No specific car parking is available here because cars aren’t allowed in that area. The taste of the food is too delicious. They have varieties of food items which are not limited to only Mandi or Kebab items. They were welcomed with complimentary soup items. Some soft drinks and dessert are also served here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. No smoking is allowed here. Cash and card both are acceptable.
The best restaurant in Souk al Wakif. The restaurant serves Yemeni food of the highest quality. Went twice in 2 days the food was that good. We initially tried the meat on rice the 1st day and BBQ Chicken and Mutton Curry on the 2nd day. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Value for money aswell. Portions were of very good size.
Bandar Aden Restaurant is a wonderful Yemeni dining spot located at the north end of Souq Waqif, and it truly delivers an authentic and flavourful experience. We visited for a hearty lunch before heading to the Formula 1 race, and it turned out to be one of the best meals of the day. The highlight was the mutton and rice combo—beautifully cooked, tender, and richly seasoned. The portion was generous, comforting, and full of traditional Yemeni flavours that make the cuisine so distinctive. It’s the kind of dish that leaves a lasting impression and makes you want to return. The service was warm, efficient, and welcoming. Staff were helpful and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. The restaurant itself was clean and inviting, offering a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere perfect for a satisfying meal before a big event. One of the most impressive aspects was the value. For such hearty, delicious food, the price was extremely reasonable—three of us enjoyed a full meal for just 105 QAR. It’s rare to find quality, authenticity, and affordability so beautifully balanced. If you’re in or around Souq Waqif and craving genuine Yemeni cuisine, Bandar Aden Restaurant is an excellent choice. Highly recommended for its fantastic food, friendly service, and unbeatable value.
We had dinner here on a weekday. It was not super busy with indoor seating available. The A/C is not super strong. We ordered some half chicken with rice and one of the chicken stew dishes. We liked the seasonings for our meals. The food was cooked well. The prices are good for the quality.
