We stayed here at the end of our time in Delhi, India. And it was such a welcome change. The place was tranquil. The reason my partner booked it was because we saw reviews of dogs! Maple and Mocha were amazing. They never came to us when we were eating and were happy to be around us. They had better manners than most two-legged people I’ve met! The rooms were nice. They had better electrical things than an apartment we stayed at: air purifier, heater. Also included is a hair dryer, shampoo/ conditioner, body wash, towels, safe etc Breakfast was heavenly and dinner was additional upon request, but after staying away from home for more than 9 weeks, we went crazy for a home cooked meal! All the staff were amazing and I loved the way they took care of the fur- babies: dogs and cats! I loved the place so much. If I ever go back to Delhi, will stay here again.
Truly special hotel in Delhi. It’s like staying with a family that is meeting you at the airport after a long journey. They take incredible care of you. The breakfasts and dinners are like family gatherings with delicious food. Lutyens is a beautiful little village in the heart of Delhi.
Great location, difficult to get something better than this. Amazing food. The dinner was simple home made food, which we loved! Owners are very nice people. Rooms though, and overall cleanliness of the property, doesn’t match the price point. We had to ask staff to come and clean the floor of our rooms as soon as we entered it. The cleaner cleaned the floor with a cloth. Bathroom had a very poorly maintained bathtub.
I stayed here in fall 2024 before embarking on a motorcycle trip. The host and everyone else we met who worked here were wonderful and made you feel like you were home away from home. Their kindness meant a lot to some weary travelers who could barley form words with all their jetleg. Thank you so much for your care and kindness. Also the pool was amazing and there is a very cute golden retriver that hung out with us there!
This is the second time we stayed at this lovely hotel, which is a true oasis in the midst of buzzing and noisy New Delhi. At the end of our monthlong travel to India and Nepal in April 2026 we spent two days at Lutyens. It felt like we were returning to friends and made the transition from a quiet Ayurveda centre to New Delhi much easier. This year’s room was very spacious, the flower and vegetable gardens beautiful and breakfast and dinner set in the garden were lovely. Last year we spent several nights there at the beginning of our trip and explored Lodi Garden (less than 10 min walk away) every morning, prior to breakfast. The staff are friendly and helpful and the owners lovely. If we come back to Delhi, we will be back at Lutyens Cottages.
