Morena is without a doubt one of the best restaurants — if not the best — in the entire city. The experience was outstanding from start to finish. The service is truly unbeatable: the staff is incredibly kind, attentive, and makes you feel special from the moment you arrive. And the food… absolutely delicious. Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and made with top-quality ingredients. A must-visit place for an amazing meal and a memorable dining experience. I would definitely come back a thousand times.
This restaurant is more than a hype, it is the heart of Cusco. Morena exceeded every expectation and left an indelible impression on our palates. From the moment we stepped inside, the ambiance enveloped us in warmth — an inviting, thoughtfully curated space that strikes the perfect balance between comfort and character. The staff was nothing short of exceptional. Dior was attentive, genuinely friendly, and remarkably knowledgeable. He guided us through the menu with confidence and enthusiasm, offering recommendations that felt personal rather than rehearsed. We began with the lomo saltado Morena — an absolute showstopper. Every bite was layered with bold, harmonious flavor; the kind of dish that lingers in your memory long after the meal is over. The chicharrón was perfectly executed — crispy, rich, and deeply satisfying — while the Peruvian seafood rice was a beautifully seasoned homage to Peru’s extraordinary coastal bounty. The house cocktails deserve special mention as well — creative, well-crafted, and the perfect companion to every course.
Beautiful serene setting, artistic food presentation, impeccable and sincerely welcoming service, and most importantly, delicious. What a treat. Very reasonable (I come from SF where a comparable fine dining meal may cost upwards of $60 without drinks). My friend and I lucked out as we did not have reservations, but we were on the early end (before 6 pm). This was our first meal in this beautiful city, and a more welcoming one after a long day of travel, I can’t imagine. We got a seat overlooking the plaza. My friend loved her osso buco. I loved my vegetarian choices, croquettes and an extraordinary hummus dish with braised carrots and fresh greens. Our chosen dessert was a standout, cocoa ice cream with brownies and caramelized nuts served in a cocoa bean shell — extremely generous portion for two already-full diners. Note: 10% - 15% tip is suggested for fine dining in Peru — the Morena wait staff definitely deserve this appreciation.
Everything was exceptional. We were lucky to walk in and sit at the bar, and 20mins later offered a table. They provided complimentary cheesy bread which was delicious. We ordered the Pulpo al olivo, choclo croquettes, guacamole and the tacos.. which were so delicious we ended up getting another round of tacos. Each dish surpassed the other with delicious and different flavours. We weren't sure to order seafood after judt arriving from Lima but we are really glad we did!! We loved absolutely everything. And the maracuya frozen juice was made fresh and perfectly crushed. Will be back for sure! Excellent service also.we went a second time and got the lomo saltado (fine but not wow) and the degustacion del mar (this was nice to try different options on the menu)
Very nice Peruvian cuisine with excellent service and cozy atmosphere. A bit more expensive than the average, but worth the quality. You should make a reservation before. If possible a few days before, otherwise you maybe won't get a table in the evening.
