We booked for the Chicken Wine Dinner with La Vieille Ferme. This was my first time eating at Le Coq, even though im a regular in the bar Smithfield Social. The food was simply stunning, delicious, really well presented and id probably do illegal things the have another go on that cheesecake!!! It was great to have the rep from Chicken Wine there giving us the history of the brand, some great anecdotes and obvs the opportunity to try the diffrent types! The staff were totally lovely , they went out of thier way to accommodate a last min guest we brought with us ( who was also veggie and they provided him with a beautiful meal). The whole team are friendly without being intrusive, intuitive with the service and just very good eggs!!! I will definitely be back with friends very soon!!!
Wonderful dinner experience, the food, service and drinks were second to none! Big shout out to Jenny and Morgan who really made our experience what it was :) the food was insane, we pretty much ordered the whole menu and not one dish disappoint! Thank you to all the team, can’t wait to go back soon!
Have visited multiple times since opening. Great vibes and service. Love the chilled low candle light atmosphere. The chicken is the star of the show, juicy and plenty to share with friends. Lots of options for sides (hash brows are 11/10) and sauces. Really lovely team. Fab wines and cocktails, love the Sidecar and Chicken wine spritz! Will return again
I visited this restaurant last night and had a very mixed experience. The venue itself is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is lovely. The staff were also very polite and welcoming throughout the visit. However, the chicken I was served was clearly undercooked and raw in the middle. I have eaten a lot of chicken over the years and I have never seen chicken that looks like this and been told it was cooked. When I raised it with the manager, he showed me a temperature log on his phone and said they temperature-check every chicken before serving. While I understand they were trying to explain their process, it didn’t really change what was on the plate in front of me. ( I have attached a photo ) I am aware that this is a new restaurant and there can sometimes be teething issues when places first open, and I completely understand that. However, serving raw chicken is a serious food safety risk and not something that should ever reach a customer’s table. To their credit, they did remove half the cost of the chicken from the bill & it was never about the money, which I appreciate. However, I still ended up paying the rest of the bill including the service charge (as the servers are great that I can’t fault), and I chose not to eat the chicken as I didn’t want to risk food poisoning. It’s a shame because the restaurant itself is beautifully done and the staff were polite, but this experience was very concerning.
I love the idea. Service was ok and then really bad. Waited forever to someone to come after food. We came at 9 and felt like an after thought. Food was really salty, and that’s coming from someone who loves salt. Salty fries, chicken, etc. Simple fixes then I think it will be delicious.
