My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon while visiting Copenhagen for a week. Absolutely incredible hotel- we will stay here again the next time we visit. We were upgraded to the Deluxe Suite because of our AMEX membership. The room was spacious, clean, and modern, the beds very comfortable. The bathroom vanity was perfect for getting ready. The turn down service was lovely, and we appreciated how quickly they gave us new towels and fresh water for our night stand. The best part was the continental breakfast - they had green smoothies, delicious meats and cheese and salads and fresh rolls from their bakery. Even when we had an early train to catch at 7AM, the breakfast was available for us. Very quiet location (even when there was a massive street festival going on in the city). Highly walkable to the metro and regional train station. We also used the pool for a nightcap and the gym was small but clean and very functional.
Going into our stay, I really wanted to like Villa Copenhagen, but unfortunately it fell pretty flat. We booked through Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts, and I reached out in advance to confirm a few details. I also flagged some mistakes how some of the rooms were listed on a third-party site. The response I received felt oddly defensive and almost implied the issue was my fault, which was not a great first impression. Check-in was also a mess. Our room was not ready when we arrived, which was fine, and we were told to wait about 10 minutes and that someone would come get us. After about 40 minutes, no one had followed up, and the original person helping us had disappeared. Eventually, we found out that we had not been checked in properly and that our room had actually been ready the entire time. Our first night, we went to sleep around 9 p.m. and were woken up at 9:40 p.m. by someone attempting to perform turndown service. That was confusing for two reasons: first, turndown service at nearly 10 p.m. feels very late, and second, I had been offered turndown service as a paid add-on and declined it. So while I suppose we received it for free, it was definitely unwanted at that hour. Our room was fine, 90% of the hotel are standard rooms so don't expect a meaningful upgrade. Breakfast was honestly the saving grace. It was excellent, as was most of the food we had in Copenhagen, and the person working the omelette station was especially great. The pool area is fun, but a little odd. The pool itself is metal, fairly narrow, and not really suited for swimming laps. The sauna setup also felt a bit strange, and much of the seating around the pool is on a lower deck facing the hotel rather than the pool itself. The listed adults-only hours did not seem to be enforced. That said, the staff around the pool were great. Overall, outside of breakfast and the pool staff, most of the service we received was friendly and polite, but disorganized. Villa Copenhagen has a lot of potential, but the execution during our stay just was not there. If you are paying cash, stay elsewhere. When it's available, this place is an absolute steal on choice points.
Wonderful stay at this hotel. It is well appointed, the rooms are quite nice. The rooftop/pool are were very pretty. The breakfast was incredible. Fireworks on Saturday night were a great bonus.
We had a fabulous time at Villa Copenhagen for nearly a week. They were able to let us into our room early which was a godsend after a transatlantic red-eye flight. The lobby and courtyard bar are stunning in person, and the staff working there are prompt and helpful. They make really amazing cocktails, which is a treat to have so accessible. The hotel's central location right near Kobenhavn H station was so convenient. The amenities provided made it feel like a self-contained resort in the middle of a city. The pool temp is fantastic even on chilly spring mornings. The beds were very comfortable as well. Our room was a little small and more storage options for clothing would be appreciated, but we made it work. Overall, would recommend this hotel to others visiting Copenhagen!
Amazing place. The room, staff, and food were all great. The breakfast spread was so good and so many options. The location is excellent, 5 mins walk to Copenhagen station. I'll definitely be staying here on my next trip. Tip: Take the S train to central station from the airport and if you take the stairs from the platform (there's also an elevator), you'll arrive on the same street as the hotel.
