I normally do not write negative reviews, as I always hope that any issues will be resolved smoothly by the hotel. However, my check-in experience today was extremely disappointing and far below the standards I expect from a five-star property. When I checked in, I was first given a connecting room, which I did not want. I went back to reception and was given another room on the first floor, but it was also a connecting room. After a third visit to reception, I finally got a room on the fourth floor. Unfortunately, the room was not properly cleaned. The bathroom amenities were already opened, there was hair on the sink, and the bedsheets and mattress sheet were clearly used. I informed reception and was told housekeeping would take care of it while I went out for dinner. When I returned after an hour and a half, only the bathroom was cleaned and the bedsheets were still not replaced. Reception informed me that housekeeping had already left and that they could only send sheets for me to change myself. One staff member kindly helped me even though it was not his responsibility. For a five star hotel, this was far below expectations in terms of cleanliness, room readiness, and communication. A very disappointing check in experience.

Our second time staying here. The service is always nice. Location is tiptop. We were there during the Karneval and it was very practical to just cross the bridge and join the party. Go for the rooms with club access as their lounge has veey good view of the Dom.

This is an amazing property located right across the Rehin river with a panoramic view of the Cologne cathedral. The real jem of the hotel is through the classy yet comfortable service from all the staff on site. Check in was such a wonderful experience. It was warm and effortless with no frills and no fuss. All the staff on site were smart competent and classy. In room dining arrived in less than 20mins exactly as foretold. There was never a dull moment while waiting for service requested. Breakfast buffet was beautiful and the restaurant staff were warm and welcoming. They don’t pester you with pretentious attitude. They are super competent operating in a seamless five star service. I have been to lots of other fancy hotels with premium price and pretentious vibe. But the Hyatt Regency Cologne was one of a kind. Thank you!

Very good and I appreciated that the hotel has a lot of very professional and efficient staff. The breakfast is fantastic and offers a rich variety of options. The location is also great and iconic. Rooms are spacious, clean and fully equipped maybe the minibar could offer more option. Although the main disappointment is the spa where I noted some external clients entering the Turkish steam bath with their flip flops. This practice is highly non hygenic and source of fungi. Furthermore I have been harassed by ‘two old witches’ because as I entered with my shorts making a fuss about it. It is also questionable and signs of decay finding abandoned towels in the sauna left there by careless persons, allowing used, damp towels to accumulate creates a breeding ground for microorganisms, odors, and dampness. So if you have to enforce a policy hygiene come first! Also regrettably, the spa area is super cold especially the swimming pool that lacks of adequate heating. The cold is exacerbated by the fact that there are clients that leave the door open when they leave force you too freeze when whatever you want is relax snd well-being without bone chilling. The Turkish bath neeed more heating power and the jakuzzi could be much better as the sprinkles are a few and the air message too delicate that you neither feel it.

The Hyatt Regency Cologne is a brilliant hotel right on the Rhine promenade, offering stunning views of the Cologne Cathedral and Old Town. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel truly welcomed with their warm, professional service and seamless check-in proces. Spacious Rooms and Comfy Beds. Our room was exceptionally spacious, featuring a king-size bed with plush pillows and high-quality linens that ensured a restful night’s sleep. The setup included modern touches like a coffee/tea maker, minibar, and large bathroom with both a shower and separate bath—everything felt clean and thoughtfully appointed. Even with the elegant, classic decor, it exuded comfort and luxury, perfect for unwinding after exploring the city. We absolutely enjoyed the indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, Finnish sauna, Roman steam room. The wellness area was spotless and serene, with pool towels provided—ideal for a refreshing swim or soothing sauna session overlooking the river. It added the perfect touch of relaxation to our stay, making us feel pampered without leaving the hotel. Centrally located near Koelnmesse fairgrounds, Deutz train station, and a short walk across the Hohenzollern Bridge to the cathedral and Old Town, it’s unbeatable for business or leisure. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, with diverse options enjoyed amid panoramic Rhine views, while the on-site Glashaus Restaurant served delicious international cuisine. Additional perks like free WiFi, 24-hour gym, and concierge made every moment effortless—we left feeling refreshed and eager to return.
